Question XACT rebooting problem

My xact radio has developed a quite annoying problem of rebooting for five minutes before it receives a channel. The sirius screen comes on, goes off, then comes back on again. Anyone know whats wrong here?

Sounds like something has happened to it. I'd suggestion you contact Sirius support and see what they suggest. If it is still in the 1 year warranty they can offer you an warranty exchange.

This piece of cheap crap won't even turn on anymore! It just pops up the sirius dog screen over and over....

Yup, sign of a dead dog. My Xact did that also. Lucky for me I bought the extended warranty thru Circuit City and since mine was no long sold. I was able to get my money back and purchase a Starmate Replay 2, pre-FCC. My first Xact lasted like 2 days, then the second one lasted a couple months before the dreaded splash screen cycle.

Good luck.

Yeah, this is my second Xact too. The last one's headphone jack died. It was still under warranty, so I got a new one. Now this one died. What a POS.

I had one does this to me, too. It turned out just to be a loose connection between the cigarette adapter and the outlet. Once I tightened it a bit (just set the adapter in the outlet a little better), I never had any problems again. It's worth a shot if you don't have any luck with anything else. My Xact has been going strong for 2+ years.
