Default Starmate Replay Install-1999 Mercedes CLK430

I have a Sirius Starmate Replay unit in my CLK. There was a Nokia cell charger with a DC plug (I assume 12V) that fit and powered on the unit, so for simplicity I used that to install my Replay. However, this means it comes on whenever I want, and will also stay on.

I want the radio to turn on when I turn the ignition, just like my factory radio. I also want it to turn off, but can turn on at least in acc mode. This way I dont have to worry with turning it on OR off.

Does this unit have the capability to sense power and automatically turn on w/ ignition? If so, how should I wire it? Is it 12v or 5v? My cigarette lighter works ONLY w/ ign turned on; can I just tap into that wire and ground it? Thanks!

I'd measure the voltage on the Starmate Replay power cord. I thinks it's 12v (as its similar to my XACT XTR8CK). Yes, the cig lighter is Mercedes power on/off with the car. Tapping into the cig lighter is a good idea. Make sure you put an in-line fuse to the radio though 'cause the cars cig lighter fuse is rated pretty high. I'd put a 2 to 3-amp fuse in-line with the radio (or look at what rating is inside the cig lighter plug now for the radio and use a similar rating).
