Default Antanae not Recognized

I ordered a Sirius Replay on November 28 to give to my wife as a Christmas present. She unwrapped the package on Dec. 25, but I didn't have a chance to install this in her car until Jan. 17th.

Guess what, the unit had a "ANTANAE NOT RECOGNIZED" message when I turned the system on . So I borrow a Sirius antanae from my nephew (who sold me on the Replay because his Replay was so "cool.") and my nephew's antanae didn't work either on my wife's radio/dock either . Both antanaes by the way work on my nephews car...

I called Sirius on 1-17 explained the problem, faxed them all my receipts and wrote a letter explaining all the above and I QUESS (according to all the horror stories on this forum ) I just blew $100+ on a Siruis Replay and I'll never hear back from Sirius or get a replacement?

OK, I quess I'll make a trip to Sam's CLub next week and buy an XM Radio for my wife's car? But, we like the programming on Sirius...

Any advice?

Let's do some technical support SIRIUS may not have done with you.

First, which replay model do you have? I have a Starmate Replay, there is a Sportster Replay as well.

Second, on the side/back of the radio where the antenna connects into the radio, look to make sure the gold wire in the center of the antenna jack is straight and not bent. Do the same on the dock.

Third, make sure the antenna wire is being connected to the unit/dock firmly. I have noticed the antenna connections are tight and require a firm grasp to remove from the unit/dock. Make sure the antenna wire is all the way on there.

Report back to us with your findings. If we cannot help you here, we'll give you some other help. Don't give up, once you get your radio working, you'll be as happy as your nephew is with his radio.

plus your radio is over 30 days old and to get any parts replaced you will need to speak to the warranty department if none of the trouble shooting steps work.
