Post JVC KS-SB200 boombox reception problem

Posted also in the sirius garage...just trying to find an answer......

I have a JVC KS-SB200 unit and recently I scored the boombox accessory on e bay for $15. <<I'd was only able to hear Howard Stern during my work commute, so 30 minutes total a day really wasn't cutting it. >>

Anyway, I set up the boombox, but I can't get reception anywhere in my house during the day or during bad weather. Instead I'm met with the red glare of the display telling me it's looking for a signal. At night, no problem..clear as day. I've moved it by windows. I've hung the antenna out the window. (not supposed to do but I'm experimenting) I've run the antenna on the floor...still NOTHING. Even with the night reception, I"m only getting two bars !!

I know this unit is old, but I like it and I don't have the $$$s to be running out to buy a new car and home model. Has anyone had this problem ??
It's rather frustrating and the leaflet JVC calls their manual really isn't helping.

Otherwise than that, I love the product and except for the occasional drop out, have had great success with Sirius

Sirius garage post was locked.. Please no double posting.!!!

Sounds like you need to get the antenna outside. Did you read the antenna aiming section in the manual? I think it says for best reception you may need to get the antenna outside. When you hung it out the window was it in the open sky? The window you tried is it facing the correct direction as stated in the manual?

Honestly... it just sounds like you need to get the antenna outside in a clear area.
