Paintedantenna, do you have any details? I do understand that you may not be able to provide details to the public yet, but if you can...

I consider the XM device a wireless antenna, because it requires an antenna connection the reciever for the wireless box. A true repeater would just retransmit the signal to any device with an internal antenna (Stiletto).

So my questions is this, is the Sirius device a repeater, or a wireless antenna?

Hawk ,I don`t get your drift on the difference between the two repeaters , XM and SIRIUS . Don`t they both need an outside antenna to receive the signal from the satalite and then the repeaters transmit it to any device like the MYFI for XM and Stiletto for SIRIUS using their internal antenna`s.
I`m in for either repeater lets see how many are interested and then tell the manufacturer how many are willing to buy and see what he can do for us when we have a rough idea how many are willing . I hate to wait for SIRIUS as one time I read here they have no intentions and then the next week I read late spring ? Anyway put me on the list for a repeater if we get enough people

Gizmo,

If you look at the XM system there are 2 units. One connects to the outdoor antenna and transmits the sat signal on another frequency. The second receives this signal and converts it back to the sat frequency. This second box plugs into the antenna input on your radio.

A repeater would have an external antenna to recieve the signal from the sats, and an inside antenna to transmit it directly to the radio's antenna. This would require nothing special (read: extra costs) at each radio.

With the Stiletto and an XM type 'wireless antenna' I would still need to use a docking station. With a repeater I could walk freely using the internal antenna.

I understand now . I went to an XM store and read more about it . That kinda sucks the way the XM repeater is designed , you loose some of the benefits of the MYFI being a portable having to attach the receiver to it which is a shame with all of the antennas available for it . That is like carring a Siletto around in a car dock so you can have preset buttons ,it takes away from the fact it is suppose to be a portable . Well after learning that I guess the SIRIUS one is looking better .

Where has sirius said anything about coming out with one? I've never seen anything about it besides this thread.

I would love a look at the literature. Now the the Sirius repeater details are kind of out, and its a 2 piece. I would love to know if this a a true repeater.

While I would love for the Sirius repeater to be a single unit, I am pretty sure it will be the two piece transmitter/receiver. While this isn't ideal, it is better than nothing. I have used the XM version for going on 2 years now and it does a good job. I have access to XM's channels in every room in my house and I never have to worry about the signal. I get 3 full bars absolutely everywhere. I even have areas in my backyard that are totally covered by trees and the XM personal repeater works back there too.

This type repeater won't help much with the Stiletto with its built in antenna and no ability hook up an external antenna, but certainly with every other PNP tuners this would be better than what we have now. Those that want have reception in their basement this baby will provide it.

Is this device capable of providing enough signal for the whole house? If so I might be interested for $200(quantity of 5).
