Default No clear signal in fresno apartment..Help!

I'm in need of some help if anyone can help. I moved to an apartment in Fresno and now can no longer get reception on my boom box which houses my sportster replay. I have it in my window facing North and East and still have no such luck. Sirius customer care was no help either as I was placed on hold for 25 min! Any help as to boost my signal or any apartment tips would be great. Thanks.

Often when you can't get a signal indoors, even though you are sure you're pointing the antenna correctly, the problem is metallic tinting on the windows, a very common problem with business places, but not unheard of at a home.

Also, pointing the antenna is not easy. It has to be done fairly precisely to get the full signal. One way to avoid that pitfall is to use a vehicle antenna. The boombox uses a straight plug, though, so you would need a vehicle antenna with the same. You should be able to find an old style antenna with a FAKRA shell that can easily be removed and should work for you. Here are instructions.
