Default SIR-KEN1 locks up

SIR-KEN1, Kenwood DPX-301, Buffalo NY. Sirius freezes at seemingly random times. No Sirius-related buttons on headunit work, ie., cannot change Sirius station, etc. and sound is gone as well....nothing...nada. Otherwise, headunit works fine in all other modes...only Sirius source is frozen. Any thoughts? Is it the SIR-KEN1? Perhaps the signal? I never get an "acquiring signal" message, though. Thanks.

Did you try resetting your SIR-Ken1 box? Sometimes in the cold weather months, it is necessary to unplug the J-bus cable from the box and plug it back in. Do this with the car off then start the car after you have completed this step.

Default Thanks.

I'll give that a try, but if this is going to be a routine fix then I think I need to find a more convenient place to mount my receiver than behind the dash.

My JVC1 is mounted behind my glove box. So when I need to get to it, I can just pull out the glove box to gain access to it. I've needed to get to mine about twice per year to reset.

Thanks PhillyPhan. Crutchfield is sending me a new SIR-KEN1 and I'll try to be more creative in where I mount it. I've got a Scion xB, so the space is pretty limited. How did you fasten your receiver up behind your glove box?

My Sir Alp1 is installed behind the dash right next to my glove box, and quick to access, yet hidden
