The news I've heard from the local BB is they are expecting the Kenwood PnP in THIS WEEK, and for sure by 5/19 (next Monday). The local BB tend to hear things sooner, with the hq in their back yard.

I also noticed Crutchfield's site say they are "Expected In Stock - 5/19/2003"

SiriusBeetle, you have to understand that these units are built for the masses and your situation is unfortunately unique compared to most folks. I am sure when the full range of SIRIUS antennas hit the market, there will be those of the new low profile design that use adhesive for mounting purposes. I personally PREFER the magnetic mount myself and I am glad to finally see SIRIUS have one of this type.

Its been pointed out that Crutchfield has moved the date to 6/16/03 there ETA. However, when I called them, they say that is for any new orders and those that already had their orders in would be filled in the shipment that is due in on 5/19/03.

Hey, if they move the order back and Best Buy gets them, then I am hauling my rear on down to Best Buy. I hope your news of Best Buy getting them this week is true. When I called them about the ad in the sales circular I had gotten, they told me they were due this week too. Hopefully Kenwood didn't move their ship date back on them.

I placed my order on Monday 5/12 with an ETA of June. However, when I check my order status now it says the expected ship date is 5/19.
No, I take that back, I just checked my order status this morning and it has changed again to:

113KTCH2H - Kenwood KTC-H2H (QTY 1) ETA: 5/19/2003
113KTCH2C - Kenwood KTC-H2C (QTY 1) ETA: 5/19/2003
113KTCH2A - Kenwood KTC-H2A (QTY 1) ETA: 6/16/2003

All I can say is that if I can get the items at Best Buy or anywhere else sooner, then I'll just cancel my Crutchfield order. I hate Best Buy (at least in this area,) the staff there are all morons and they remind me of this every time I go in there.

Oh, I so can't wait for this Kenwood Here2Anywhere!!!!

Knowing Crutchfield, though, they will probably go ahead and ship the car / home kits, and you'll end up paying shipping on the first order for all of it. It makes no sense to m to ship the car and home kits without the tuner, but I bet they do if they come in first. Can you imagine having to sit there for a month looking at the kits and no tuner? GEEZ!! LOL :\

Default Dimensions?

Any idea of the dimensions of the Car cradle? I'm planning to use this on my motorcycle and want to start figuring out the mounting! :\

Just got an update I thought I would pass along. Kenwood H2A is scheduled to ship late this week and will be in all Best Buy stores by June 8th. Audiovox will be later. At $99, the H2A is a steal!

Circuit City will also be running full page ads, so this means they should have it as well.

Sirius will have more room on the floor at the big box electronics retailers. Sirius will be taking serious ground from XM this summer.

That is hard to say, because in my opinion both of their web sites have a lot to be desired. Have you ever done a search on Best Buy's web site. It always tells me that the item was not found. Yet if I do a hard search looking through the items I can generally find it.

Anyway.... Hopefully they will offer these on their web site. I am sure they will, but maybe not as quickly as they do in the retail stores. I personally love going to Best Buy and just looking around...

Default re

Iv'e had it in my car for about a week now, and all I can say is
$#*&^% AWESOME
I am so impressed with display, 4 lines of text, look ahead previews
large text or small, scrolling. It has sooooo many features that I can't even play with them all.
This thing a lot of the same features as the Delphi, plus many many more.
Try not to compare it to the Sony, it blows the Sony away.
the car kit comes with a cassette adapter and RCA jacks, and smaller 2nd gen antenna, I mounted mine inside my arm rest.
To the post about being 6 or 12 volt, it's 12 volt. I cut off the cigarette lighter end and hard wired mine in.
This piece is really worth the wait.

I talked to the sales manager at the Apple Valley, MN Best Buy, and also at the Burnsville, MN Circuit City extensively about satellite radio sales.

They both said that sales of Sirius and XM are about even. Sirius has the momentum though, and they expect a HUGE surge in sales after the PnP's are released. They said people (like me) are coming in or calling on a daily basis, and they expect the Kenwood to fly off the shelf.

Should be a good ride!

When is the Audiovox due to be out? Price? The one that looks like the Skyfi? Anyony have pics of it?

Im thinking about adding a Sirius tuner to my XM lineup. I wish there was a way to cross-platform this stuff. Like add a Sirius tuner to my Pioneer Headunit... or a Pioneer XM tuner to a Panasonic Headunit.

At $129 for the tuner, and then $60 for a home and $60 for a car kit, the price adds up.
