Default Kenwood H2A

Guys, I got my Ken H2A 3 days ago from SIRIUS. All I can say is wow... I was worried about the display being to small, this is not a problem. You can adjust the display to scroll large text, and from 15 feet, I can read the text fine.

The other worry I know several people had was reception. I only have the car kit, so I have the car antenna in my bedroom window. No reception problems at all. I have a east facing (N. Carolina) bedroom window with no repeater in the area, and all three bars on the antenna screen are lit.

I know Best Buy will have them soon, I don't have a exact date but I'm sure Best Buy will distribute them soon. Later

John

Theres a Signal Streangh menu?? Sweet!! Does it just do Satelites or repeaters also? I think that is something new (in the forum) that no one has said. Thanks for the heads up John

No just an overall Signal meter in the setup menu, which there is a button on the remote for that menu. I have emailed Pete to see if there is a service menu with more options.

Two questions for you....does it lock onto channels any faster than existing Sirius tuners? Also, when you click the channel up/down buttons, does it show the channel names right away, or does it show the channel number first and then gets the name afterwards?

Do you think that you could take a picture of it in the center storage compartment (The CD Compartment) in your Accord??

It is a little faster accessing channels, but the Channel info is immediate. . This has been covered but you can see whats on other channels, while listening to another (wouldn't recommend this feature while driving). When you have the text expanded to fit the whole screen, it scrolls continuously Song/Artist.

Its not there right now, its connected to my system in my computer room, if you want pics, I can snap a few...

I want to see this thing!

Hopefully when I get the PNP, I can add a unit to where I work. I Fucking hate having to listen to 96.5 The point and Sunny 104.5 all the damn time, although we sometimes listen to XPN.

Cool, good to hear. I'm secretly hoping that any performance enhancements that end up in the new Kenwood portable will also end up in their next stand alone tuner.

Hey John, thanks man for your info. I am anxiously awaiting this H2A to arrive at Best Buy or through my pre-order at Crutchfield. Keep the info coming as you use it more and please snap a few pictures.

Also what is the size of the unit?

Thanks...

Thanks to John for these 'first-look' photos of the Kenwood H2A...

Maybe he'll chime in with his thoughts about functionality, etc.

I might be going to the Audiovox PNP now. There are 10 presets per row, so I can effectively have one for music, one for talk. And, the audiovox has the cool delphi-like knob, along with the 10 song alert system, and wirelessly FM modulated to the car.

BTW: does anybody know if Audiovox will have a car FM modulated system with a home antenna? Found out the boombox at work doesn't have an AUX, and I know that there is a better chance of Trent Lott getting elected president over a nicer boombox coming in.

BTW2: Does the Delphi have the 10 song alert system and wireless FM modulation?(i.e. throw the antenna on the roof, plug into the cig. lighter, and away we go!)? I know that it will save on # of car units I would buy.
