You need to heat up that scanner bro

So, looking at it, what do you think? I would imagine it going to be very much so like the Streamer. The only thing is that orange, I am not sure about that. What's your take!

Yeah, about all we get to wear is a jacket...... maybe

I am working in a buddies haunted house tomorrow night and its going to be freaking HOT. We were sure hoping it would be much cooler. Especially due to some of the costumes we will be wearing. It was a barn burner tonight during dress rehersal. Its going to be fun none the less.

Well it looks like Crutchfield has some of the Audiovox PNP2's in stock. You may want to look into that. Depends on if you like the Green or Orange Text, cause feature wise they are pretty much the same.

pnp2 looks great and it's got the right features. i just wish it was as small as the roady. i'd love to switch to sirius, but i guess i'll wait to see what the jvc will look like. i don't have enough space in my car for a clean install so for now i'm stuck with the roady. by the way, did anyone hear any news about that jvc pnp unit? i searched all over the internet with no luck. can't wait to join the team.

6mt, Welcome to Sirius Backstage

As far as the JVC, the only think I know is they will be showing it at the CES in January. I would assume they are getting very close to shipping after that. I don't know anything about it, but I hope it offers something different than the existing PNP products, and reduced size would be a nice attribute. I do know it's suppoesed to have multi-color display capability.

What car do you want to install it in?

I've said this once and I'll say it again. If you folks are waiting and expecting the JVC to be much smaller than the current batch of PNP units, you are going to be soarly disappointed. Its my opinion and there is a very slim chance I could be wrong, but I just don't see the current chipset able to work with the proper heatsink cooling in a smaller unit. Perhaps with the 3rd generation chipset is released that will change drastically.

XM's 2nd generation chipset from the get go had run coolor and been smaller than SIRIUS's, which is why they were able to do the Roady.

i'm trying to install it in the 03 acura cl with navi. if you're familiar with the car there's some space between the shifter and the ash tray which is where i'd like to install it. that is where my roady currently sits. as of right now, it is a clean install (no wires can be seen anywhere) and the roady is removable. i'd switch in a heartbeat if there was a similar unit from sirius but looks like i may have to wait. i'm even willing to give up 3 free months with xm that i got by referring other people. btw, the technologies must be pretty similar, why such difference in sizes??? does it have to do with a different compression codec that sirius uses?

I'm not familiar with your car, but I think the AudioVox + car kit will require somewhere around 2 1/2 inches of clearance. Is it the thickness or height that would be a problem?
