Pro-fit has done a terrible job at keeping up with these newer Tuners. They kind of based everything on cell phones and the XM Skifi. But my experience with them was that the kits even made for your vehicle don't work that well. I had to modify the one I bought. I should have just sent the darn thing back. I didn't work with the Audiovox or even the Streamer now. They may have some sort of generic one you can get.

Panavise seems to be working on getting some decent mounts made for these newer SIRIUS tuners. Which is good to see.

Select BMW.

Good luck...
Boston,

Actually I have the one for my car although it was not recommended if you have a stick because when you shift into 5th gear your knuckles hit the bottom of the unit - that was with the Delphi. I bought it anyway and learned to shift around it. It was great, except for the fact that the Delphi mount was a piece of crap.

I don't think its going to work with the Streamer though. I am going to see if I can make the suction cup mount work for me but I doubt it. If I had a truck, like my old Trooper (but I had to sell it ) it would be Golden.

My goal is to position it as close to the Steering wheel as possible in order to provide the least amount of distraction from the road.

I am going to mount my iPod holder back on the Pro-fit.

Later.

Mark

I like the display, but i had a problem reading a few screen shots. It was like the text was garbled or in a different font style.

That was casued by the shutter speed on the camera. The text was scrolling and the shuttler was still open so, the garbled text. All of the font styles were also represented in the pics.

Believe me you wouldn't have any problem reading this display. It has the largest fonts and they are crisp. If you can read that ole Jensen SSR2000, reading the Streamer would be like a breath of fresh air.

I agree 100%. This has to be the clearest, crispest display that I've ever seen on a sat radio reciever.

Killer, sitting here doing some posting on the forum. Get that magical little beep on my Streamer telling me that one of my favorites was playing on another stream. I looked over to read what it was. Ah, Yes I want to hear that. I pick up the remote and click SEL. WHAM its on. Okay, that was nice, song is now over. Pick up the remote click PRE right back to the stream I was previously listening too. AWW, you gotta love that. This isn't sweet, this is FREAKING SWEET!

The Previous feature is one that I knew right away the PNP's needed, and it looks like they knew it too

This is true and its one that I will certainly use often. Manco this baby has so many features its almost scary. I am still checking them out. I love the various text. What is neat too. If the song is too long for the display the size of the text changes to try not to scroll it, but if its so long then it will scroll. So the text actually varies in size in order for it not to scroll, but when its absolutely necessary. The 4 different fonts are kewl too. My favorite is B and I dont' care for C at all its too hard to read.

I noticed in the Audiovox PNP2 manual that their remote does not have the PRE. I don't think it has the different fonts either. I wonder what else the PNP2 won't include that the Streamer has or if there are any features it will have that the Streamer does not.

Hey Dabster,
Great write up you and KHill both! When I ordered mine the fella said the auto kit was more of a low profile than the pro kit with the suction cup. Looking at you pics I can say that your cradle is identical to the standard auto cradle, only the suction cup arm is different. This is good news for anyone that would like to use the FM modulator and a custom mount such as one from Pro-Fit. So no need to be scared off when needing FM Modulation by the commercial suction kit.

Matt, this is good news. I wondered if that cradle was actually the same, just has a different type mount. I did some more testing on the FM Trans today. I had it going in my truck and my buddy was parked next to me he was actually able to jam with me. It was just as clear as could be. When he drove off I told him to blow his horn when he started getting static. I was shocked at how far he got. Its got a hot FM Trans on it.

Looks like Panavise is also working on some neat mounts for these PNP units. I am excited about testing those out if viseman gets back with me.

True but in all fairness the buttons are a fraction of the size of the buttons on my factory Dodge radio and if you are like me you don't care for the latest aftermarket HU's with all those dinky tiny buttons that take your eyes off the road.

I am game on that and was trying to figure one out myself.
I already figured a way to move my stock HU and or HVAC controls to accommodate and would like to see what you have.

Also I forgot to mention that from what I see it looks like your antenna is the same as mine except that it would come with a special "clamp mount" for easy removal. The Pro-Kit seems like a natural addition for me with our travel trailer. I was looking at the HU in the trailer and with no aux inputs or cassette it would require a FM modulator like what comes in the Pro-Kit.

One thing on the travel trailer stereo is that the tuning knob is the older style rotary knob with pointer. Do you think I could make it work with that? Its not digital where you can dial in exactly ie 104.1 but have to run the pin indicator over to 104 and then "listen" for best reception.
Odd its that way on a brand new 2003 trailer????

Yes, some additional adapters for specific applications would be nice and a chance for added sales while purchasing the Streamer.
