New York - JVC unveiled its first Sirius satellite radio product—a transportable plug-n-play unit with car and home kits, at a press conference held here.

Called the KT-SR1000, it will ship in limited quantities in December at a list price of $99 plus $49 for each kit. The transportable receiver has a 'PDA look' said the company. It offers 30 presets and the ability to capture your favorite song. The car kit has a suction cup mount and a wireless FM transmitter. A cassette adapter car kit will also be available at $29. All kits come with a magnetic antenna. The KT-SR1000 also falls under a $49 mail-in rebate offer from Sirius.

I loved my old JVC headunit, I only gave it up to get a Sirius compatible unit hehe.. glad to see another company on board. Do they have any plans to make a unit with a RCA/direct connect method, or possibly sirius compatible head units in the future?

All JVC Head Units Coming out will be Sirius Ready from the cheapy crap ones to the Higher End JVC HU's. It will have a Tuner like the Kenwood Setup you would place in your trunk or something.

The JVC is pretty cool it's like taking the Audiovox and tilting it so it stands tall rather then laying down as the Audiovox's are.

That's all the info I know for the moment.

Very cool news...and very anticipated from my perspective. The "PDA look" part sounds very interesting to me!

Great news! Can't wait to see it. I also like the idea that it resembles a PDA. Hopefully it will be much thinner than the Audiovox!

Sweet!! I have to keep my track record of getting a PNP almost every month. This is the PNP that I've wanted all along. This will be the end to my H2A. I can't wait for the pics.

It's not a walkman. Think of a tilted PNP. Kinda iPod'ish style I would asume. But not portable like that.

Well now it does look like a PDA... Hmm... I am not sure about this one. Very, Very Different!!! What does everyone else think. Mounting it in the car will be interesting. Looks pretty though! Does it have multiple color backgrounds or just the red?
