Default Problem with Audiovox PNP2 Antenna (and customer service)

I've had my PNP2 for about three weeks, and suddenly it no longer recognizes my indoor antenna. I can fiddle with it all I want--it just doesn't work at all. I can use the antenna aiming function, and it's absolutely flat--no signal! If I try hooking up a car antenna, it works fine. It's just not working with the indoor antenna. And now I've got the car part installed, so I've got NO Sirius service in my house, since I have no extra antenna.

I called Audiovox customer service (which is sort of hilarious, 'cause apparently everyone who works for them has an accent like Janeane from Ghostbusters). After waiting on hold for almost a half hour, I learned that they really don't care much for customers or service. I have to send in my entire PNP2 kit along with a copy of the original receipt (!), and they'll repair it, but there was no indication of how long repairs would take, and there was no "Sorry you're having problems" or anything like that.

I just think back to when my Kitchenaid mixer stopped working, and I called customer service. They apologized profusely for the problem with their product and SENT ME A NEW ONE via next day air. I then returned the broken one to them at their expense. That's customer service.

Weak.

You should go by a home kit and return it with the bad antenna a day later.... But I didn't say that.

Of course I would never do that. That would be wrong.

(I feel like a dope for not thinking of that sooner...)

(I mean not not thinking that...)

(not not not?)

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I e-mailed support on the 16th and they finally replied to me today asking me questions which could have been answered by the infomation I sent in the first place. So I answered their questions. I'm definately buying a blaupunkt this summer...

In the end this unit was had at best buy with the PSP plan (4 year warrenty) so I'll just take it back, if I can find a best buy with PNP2's.
