Default What would your ultimate SIRIUS radio be?

Just thought this would be fun.

Mine would be a portable unit that had at least 10 hours of recording time, mp3 and Itunes compatible, and was no bigger than an Ipod.

It would be an iPod with integrated Sirius basically. Except with a Tivo-like device that records 4 or 5 hours (I don't need much, just enough to record a Buffett concert or something)

Mine has to be a Portable Device with a built in antenna! You can be in the middle of a house, office building and don't loose the signal and the battery life that last several hours, before needs charging again!

It would have to have wi-fi so I could listen to all of my songs on my computer from it or even connect to the sats from wifi so I can walk around my house with perfect reception.

I really wouldnt care about recording. I'd never listen to it.

Bluetooth for wireless headphones and syncing to phones/laptops

I would like to have a Starbase that has the following
  1. Pause / Rewind / Fast Forward Controls
  2. Timer / Record Options, the ability to set up recording schedules
  3. Expandable Memory, built into the tuner. Flash memory would be great, I would like at least 3 hours recording time.
  4. The abilty to listen to one channel and record another

A small Ipod sized unit that operates as a standalone portable satellite radio with your headphones. Also like on the Ipod a propriatory output that works with aftermarket radios and factory radio that does away with tuner boxes in the car and possibly home. It would charge from your head unit and send the signal, information ends up on the unit also. Controls on the radio would control the unti also. You would buy the unit and the chord that matches your head unit, voila. This will never happen unless they figure more people will buy a unit with multiple uses than multiple units for the same purpose. It seems it would be more cost effective than a box for every company. They would make on unit, then different chords for each head unit.

iPod with Sirius and #1, 2, 3, and 4 of TX's post. Also would like the option of buying songs (like XM's Napster deal). Would also be nice to be like the ipod color, with the album cover next to the song.

It would be a Garmin Forerunner (GPS device for athletes) with integrated cellphone, PDA, Sirius tuner and SD-card compartment for stored content (both playing-from and recording-to) and bluetooth headphones with mic. Built-in antenna that works would be optimal - if that's not feasable, it could use a bluetooth-connected external mini antenna that clips onto the top of the wearer's hat or headband. It would have good power management/life from only two AA batteries. Of course it would also have all the standards that I already appreciate from my JVC SR2000 (red display, polarized-sunglasses-friendly, four-direction channel/category controls surrounding the Select button, etc).

Six months after I got Sirius, they deleted most of their best music channels and replaced them with the worst (Sept 29, '05). Hense I got XM on Oct 21st and doubt I'll be renewing my Sirius. I can't support a service that mimics commercial-FM.

The size of an Ipod with a flip up screen that can be turned 90 degrees. Touch Screen controls.
All the features everyone has mentioned,
An internal fusion propulsion system so that it would never need to be charged,
Teleporting device so I wouldn't have to wait in traffic or drive for that matter.

Now that would be awesome.

Plus a pocket adapter. Most cars have that pocket to fill in space w/ aftermarket HU. Dream unit would just slide into pocket right below HU like an old 8 track player. And add a charging meter right on the end.
