Default Sportster Boombox Problem

well, it is well documented that the Sportster and boombox get very hot. However, has anyone experienced terrible static and fuzz that occurrs about 1 hour after its been on and then mysteriously goes away? I believe that it is related to heat, if I eject the Sportster and cool it down with my hands, it will be static free when I reinstall it. If I just eject it and put it bcak in it does not. It has happened to me now more than once in a stationary location. It is a pain to have this happen every time I bring the radio to the pool. Is it everyone or just me? Is it the radio or the boombox? :\
