Default wireles antenna

I want to get a home antenna. However the thought of spending another 100 bucks, getting a ladder, drilling a hole in my house, running wire through my 100+ degree attic and then down a wall isn’t very appealing. So I was thinking wouldn’t it be cool if they made a wireless antenna? I realized with over one hundred channels it wouldn’t be practical, But what if the receiver was in the antenna and only sent the signal tuned into the boom box or home unit? That would probably work. Then my boom box would be portable.

I know it is a long shot, but I don’t like ladders and I have a two-story house. Anybody got any ideas?

They announced this along time ago. It was the echo wireless repeater or something similar to that. I think they changed there mind and are not going to put it out anymore. There were pictures and evreything of it too. XM has one (and they anounced there months after sirius') so I dont know why sirius cant get one.
I hear the FCC is pretty hard on getting these things approved, so my guess is the FCC didnt let it pass.

If it is the FCC then XM shouldn't be allowed to have one.

They could make a wireless antenna that uses standard and FCC-approved protocols like 802.11g. Have that beam the signal down to a special antenna receiver (essentially a wireless router with the capability of translating the signal back into something a Sirius receiver can understand) which connects to the antenna jack on a receiver, and there you go.

Plus, if they use the Wifi protocol, that could really open the doors for listening to Sirius on your computer without using the online player (thus, no wasting bandwidth, all of the channels and better sound quality)
