Default looking for suggestions for my gmc sierra

i bought a gmc truck two months ago. i sold my other truck with siruis in it. long story short.... i am almost done with my xm free trial and want to come back to sirius. (pretty much for the nfl & other talk channels).

does anyone have suggestions on what to buy? about two years ago i bought the pnp2. i traded that in exchange for the soundgate to go with the factory-install look. i loved the display on the pnp unit, while i much prefer the factory look of the soundgate. but as i stated before on this forum... i dont' like a few things about the soundgate: speed, can't use the 'prog'/preset button on the steering wheel, very slow navigation, etc.

considering i haven't shopped for any products in a year i have no idea what is the newest and best. so what's new out there? what would you get? i either want to go with something that looks factory or something that still looks clean. i dont want another head unit though. i have bucket seats so i would consider something that could fit in either my console or over head storage.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

I really like the Starbase. It has many of the features of the PNP but it is much smaller and easier to make it blend in.

The install was not bad either.

The Starbase comes with the wired FM Modulator. You will need a antenna conversion kit $8 at Tweeter, and I used a wire tie in from Radio Shack to tie into the radio power.

I still have fun in the political forum, its all good. Glad to hear that you are thinking about coming back.

I have a Seirra and use my Audiovox PNP2 in it. I love the larger screen and have it mounted in the void area to right of the stereo. It fits perfectly with the the bracket that was sent with it. Not only that but the air vent is right there to help keep it cool. I have read here that some people are having problems with fade out due to the heat and I haven't had any of that yet and I live in Texas and it is HOT! Mounted there it doesn't block the veiw of the windshield and when I'm not in the truck I put it in the console or take it to my boom box so I am very rarely without. The placement and running of the antenna was simple ( to the right under the dash, around the doors in their foam sealing and then out the back door). It has made it through many washes (all brushless) without a problem. If I had the technology I would send you photos. Maybe I can borrow a camera and show you. I know you need them soon because life with FM sucks.

If you wait, Sirius/Directed electronics will have a Sirius Connect unit for the GM vehicles. Maybe in Sept 2005?

thanks. i've used the soundgate adapter before. honestly, i wasn't to fond of it. i found it to be very slow and the preset button on my steering wheel wouldn't work with it. the other adapter says it won't work with vehichles with xm installed which is what i have.
