I went to my Best Buy today, they had 2 different areas that I saw where they would have S50 stuff. They had an area for the S50 like the picture above except it didn't have the feature list behind it like that.

I remember going to bestbuy in July and seeing a similar spot for the ReGO.

You sure about that, because I don't recall ever seeing one and in fact I don't think the ReGo was ever in their system as reported by BB employees on the forum. I can't imagine that they would have done display space without it even being in their system. Maybe I am thinking about a different tuner, but I don't think so.

Little doubt BB is gearing up for the S50, which I am thinking is just days away from all indications.

The sales guy told me that they're expecting their demo unit for the tuner wall this week, and then they're expecting to have tuners for sale sometime the following week.

They also had a nice promotional pamphlet for the S50 with some pictures and describing the features.
Did it look like this:

Yep, that's exactly what the display at my Best Buy looked like! They also had the S50 promo pamphlets on top of the large display that they were using for their Sportster Replay and executive docking stations.

Default Battery Life??

Does anyone know about the battery life? I don't mean the 6 hours of time. I am kind of worried about the whole IPOD issue with the the batteries not holding the charge after awhile. Do you think this will be an issue with the S50? I love the unit, just a little afraid of busting out $400 and have it only last 1-2 yrs. Anyone else concerned about this?

OK, i swear i saw the ReGO when i typed that last note. But you're right, the sales person was showing me another Xact product, but speaking about the ReGO. My bad.

I went to Best Buy the other day and a sales guy walked up to me and started talking about XM(unsolicited mind you). He started to talk about how they are coming out with a new receiver when I interrupted him and said "I got Sirius". He said "oh".

Why is it that these sales guys think the receiver is the main attraction to a subscription service? Now that Sirius will have the S50 it appears we'll have the best of both worlds with content and receiver. Now if they can just get the price down on the dag thing cuz $359 is a little steep.

3 more questions concerning the S50 -

1) If one's car is off, will it still record my shows? My sister only listens to it in the car and she'd like to listen to it during her daily walk except there's no portable unit. So will it record the shows when the car is off and while attached to the car dock?

2) Does the S50 run on batteries? I'm in Florida aka Hurricane Country and in case the power goes out for a couple days, I'd like to have something to listen to in order to take my mind off the 80degree heat & 80% humidity.

3) Is the 6 hour power backup a solid figure? Optimistic, as in the power runs to 10+ hours? Pessimistic, as in the power runs only 3-4 hours?

If the tuner is powered in the car and has a line of site it would continue to record while in the car. Since you need a cradle kit to record and the cradle kit has to be powered by 12 volt DC or AC this means you can't record via battery.

You can listen to what is recorded on batteries, but I do not think you can listen live while on batteries. So if you had the 50 hours of content recorded, you could listen up to the 6 hours of battery life. If you could listen live it would be a lot less than 6 hours of battery life.

I think the 6 hours will be pretty close, it could be less, but I think it will be around that much battery life. Very doubtful that it would end up being more.

All of this will be clarified more once these puppies hit the market.
