TheSiriusStore.com now has November 11th listed as the expected date. I would call that "mid November".

Just because The SIRIUS Store has it listed as November 11th does not mean thats when Best Buy or Circuit City will get it. Im putting my money that we will start to see it pop-up next week, which would be November. I think this is a good sign from SIRIUS changing it from October to November as previous management might of just left it as October. Also the Christmas shopping season does not start until Thanksgiving so there is plenty of time.

I would wager that Mel will have one in his hand at the Q3 conference call on November 1st and later that day on CNBC's Power Lunch. He will tell us where we can purchase the S50 that day. Of course this is just my humble Texas opinion. Please remember I said the Astros in 7 too. Mathematically, I am still correct.

In the past TSS has gotten products before larger retailers, or at the same time. If they do get it after BB or CC then I doubt it will be a huge difference.

Directed Electronics distributes it, Ziba designed it, but who actually makes it we don't know.

I'm a total Sirius nOOB, but from what I've been reading, this isn't the 1st time Sirius has monkeyed around with the release date of new hardware. IMHO, this is totally unprofessional and bad for their image. Who is running their marketing department? Mickey freaking Mouse? I have the S50 pre-ordered but I am dangerously close to cancelling that order due to the B.S. about the release and shipping date! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SIRIUS or whoever is responsible for the "hit the moving release date target" BAD BAD BAD BAD

I'm just not going to be very happy if they show up on the Best Buy shelves a couple of weeks before those of us who pre-ordered them get them. I don't know about anyone else, but the only reason I pre-ordered online was to get the unit the quickest way possible. I hope we get them at least at the same time.

I think Humax is the company that is actually producing it.

"PortalPlayer and Korea-based HUMAX, a leading digital satellite set-top box manufacturer, have combined their expertise to create devices that enable end-users to enjoy digitally broadcast satellite radio content when and where they choose. The team's first project was to assist in the development of the SIRIUS Satellite Radio S50."

You might want to confirm this with Taylor of The Sirius Store, but I'm pretty sure I read that he'd refund your pre-order money if you find the item somewhere else before he's able to ship them.

That is correct The Sirius Store will refund the money if you decide to buy it locally should they get stock in first. Another thing we were told by Taylor was that they may or may not get the S50 before other retailers. They have in the past and certainly hoped too, but it doesn't mean that will be the case.

Just because you pre-order something doesn't mean you'll be the first to get it. It just means you'll be the first to get it when that store that you pre-ordered gets them in stock. The Sirius Store will ship pre-orders first. I have pre-ordered items many times from Crutchfield only to see it show up at a local retailer first.

The S50 is going to get here when it gets here. I don't understand all this posturing and threating to cancel orders. Some of you really need to give it a rest already.
