The fact is, companies delay products all of the time. I think it would be safe to say that at least 25% of electronic products miss their target ship dates. I wouldn't be surprised if the number were a lot higher. The only people that notice are the die-hard fans because they're the ones who have been waiting for it and checking message boards every day to see if it's been released yet. Joe and Jane Consumer won't even notice. The only thing that's important is that it's out by the time they start heavily advertising it. So when Joe and Jane Consumer walk into Best Buy looking for that thing they saw on TV that their teenage son said he wanted for x-mas, they'll be able to get it.

I totally disagree. Maybe the unprofessional ones delay all of the time.

Again, poor planning, poor rollout plan. We agree to disagree.

As disappointed as some people might be, the delays so far have been relatively minor. Comparisons to the Rego seem to be an over-exaggeration at this point. The Rego, as far as I know, never had shelf space alloted to it and promotional pamphlets available at a major retailer such as Best Buy, but Best Buy already has the shelf space and promo pamphlet for the S50. I doubt they'd waste their retail display space if the S50 wasn't coming soon.

If anybody is that big of a doubter, let's wager an S50 on it I'll say that it's available for purchase, either online or through retail stores (not a "pre-order"), on or before November 25 ("Black Friday"... start of the big Christmas shopping season). I'm not rich... but I also don't think I'll have to pay on this bet

Ok, I admit, I was a bit over judgemental and heated yesterday. I'm sure glad they added "Spa 73" now because I just needed to chill out a bit. I was just very dissapointed that it was pushed back again. I'm one of those that has been constantly hanging on every release date since last fall for a portable, so I just overreacted a bit. I know the Sirius Store does a good job and will get them out soon. And I'm sure they are just around the corner, but after waiting for so long and being dissapointed over and over, it just gets a bit frustrating.
Anyway, I've chilled and am now relaxing with "Spa 73" and thinking happy thoughts of Mongo frolicking in a field of daisies. "ooohhmm, ooohhmm, ooohhmm.....

That executive docking station does not look particularly sturdy. Will a true boombox be available for it like, say the JVC KS-SB200 Boombox? That is one nice looking boombox! I could see taking it to the beach...not the S50 executive station I see.

I played with a Executive Docking Station today at Circuit City ($149) and thought it was a knockout. I did not know it had aux inputs and a line out.

Not strudy enough? What do you do with stuff on your desk or nightstand? Nevermind, lol.

leaven missed one fine detail. It says Executive Docking Station, it doesn't say Boombox. This is meant to be used on a desk or night stand, not taken to the beach. The EDS is just a AC powered speaker system.

If you are looking for a tuner that has that type boombox then the JVC is a great one as well as the Audiovox.

I don't see myself taking the Altec Lansing power speaker system to the beach either that is sold for my XM2GO setup for XM.

This is why when shopping one has to consider and buy the tuner that BEST works for them. I think going to the beach, I am going to use my headphones with the 50 hours of recorded content.

No, I missed nothing. All I am asking is if there will be a boombox with which to take your S50 places. That nice JVC boombox looks very sturdy so your options to take it to a beach or camping or anyplace you might like to share the content increases. I simply see no similar option available for the S50 at this moment. Neither have I heard of the possibility of a boombox...but a good boombox option for on the go or simply to move around the house would be nice.

All of the Sirius boom boxes have a line in. You can play your S50 through them if there is not going to be a dedicated S50 beach going boom box..

That is because there isn't that type of boombox for the S50. Just like there isn't one for the XM2GO tuners. It was designed to be portable when away from it's cradles, not used with a boombox. The Executive Docking Station can be purchased and used instead of a home kit, but it also provided AC power speaker system so you don't have to worry about plugging it into any other type speaker system.

But just as Sirius_Rich mentioned all these other boomboxes and many other non-sat radio boomboxes come with aux-inputs if you are looking for the ability to move it around or have a boombox at the beach there are plenty of options. Clearly the EDS isn't designed for that.
