No -- from what I've read, you can record up to 50 hours of content in a dock, then take it on the go. No live reception out of a dock.
WAIT! WAIT!! WAIT!!!

THIS THING IS A BIG MP3 PLAYER!!!! You can't play live music??? Oh no way! GET OFF YOUR ASS SIRIUS!!!

What's the big deal. I don't see a problem with it being recorded a few hours earlier. Most music channels are voicetracked anyway, so it's not like it is that live anyway. The only disadvantage I could see would be in the case of talk shows or news shows. But for music channels, I don't mind recording them and listening a few hours later. Besides when you do this, it gives you the capability to choose certain songs, skip others, listen again, etc. Personally, this is exactly what I have wanted. I can't get live reception where I work anyway, so when I bought a MyFi after the Rego was delayed, I've always used the recording feature on it and it is great. Now with Sirius channels instead of XM, 50 hours instead of 5, and an awesome color display, I'm in heaven. Thank you Sirius!

So, it's $450 -$500 for the ability to record 50 hours of your shows/music and take it with you?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to purchase an ipod that has the ability to record 500 hours and then purchase Time Trax to record down to your pc then transfer it to your ipod?

Let's see:

iPod $ 209 at Amazon

Then get Time Trax for $99

And if you had to purchase a receiver couldn't you get one for about $50 now?

For a total of around $350 if you had to purchase a receiver vs a total of $450

I would think you'd get more for your buck if you did it that way versus this product. Even if you had to purchase a car kit which I think comes with the above product. Not to mention ipods look better and are more of a status item nowadays.

At least that's how I would do it.

It is too big. It is arcaic and huge.

Oh wait what are we talking about. Are we talking about Sirius' sleek wearable or the XM wearables. Sorry I was confused because I thought o&a said sirius' products were too big, I guess they meant XM's products were too big.

Are any of today's press conferences and announcements being carried live anywhere on Sirius? I'd love to listen in if they are. If not, they should be.

A status item? Is this what the whole sat/mp3 player world is all about. You want status. I could care less about status. If it is what I like and everyone else hates it. Fine by me. More for me to enjoy.

I think it is funny how xm lovers are signing up on this message board today to talk crap about the products being released today. I think they are getting scared.

I like the new device. I'll try to add that to my "wish list", I just need to start saving up for it!

One question does it have a built in antenna or do you have to wear the
antenna like the ReGo?

This is ridiculous. I was so excited when I thought this thing could stream live content. I switch channels periodically, so recording is out of the question. Unbelievable.

Interesting idea. I think the main things you would lose with your setup would be the nice color screen of the S50 and the ability to listen to live Sirius programming in a vehicle (since the S50 will be able to receive live content when it's in a dock). If you don't mind losing those two things, the $100 savings of your setup isn't too bad!

I think the S50 will have its market. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a true "live content" portable though!

I got excited and then now I am not. I like the fact that Sirius is finally coming out with something portable but NO LIVE CONTENT ON THE GO? Come on! I am paying $500 for something that can't get live content? I like the 50 hour recording time and the color screen is nice but I would trade that in for a true live protable. I have the XACT right now and i can get it on the go so I would basically be spending anohter $500 to play MP3 and record? Not sure if that is worth it to be honest.

This thin is great! But in my opinion it don't cut it. A lot of people out there are going to want to hear Howard Stern live while they go to work. Your not gonna be able to do this, but if that is the case, let's see the Rego
