Default S50 records 3 channels at once?

I'm reading that the unit will record 3 of your favorite channels automatically. Can it record all 3 channels simultaneously? That would be sweet Also, will it record as one big file, or as individual songs you can access? Thanks.

Yes, it records simultaneously.

I'd say it records as one big file. You can press the "heart" button though to record a single song.

Woah. All 3 channels at the same time? So leave it on for 4 hours and I get 12 hrs of recordings? Is there a site or something that posted this? I'm getting excited

Well I am not sure that is true and I won't believe it until I can see it actually working that way. There has really been no user reviews to clarify or confirm that it will record three channels at the same time. I think we still have to wait and see at this point. The description on Sirius Web Site is just too sketchy for me to draw that conclusion. I am holding judgement one way or the other until it is confirmed by users reviews.

DAB, from reading what Orbitcast, Jeff, and Sirius.com says I gather it automatically does it. But, you are right, we'll see when we get our hands on it.

It says; Let the SIRIUS S50 do the work for you with My SIRIUS Channels: it automatically learns your favorite channels and captures programming from your 3 most listened to music channels.

It learns your favorite channels and captures programming from your 3 most listened to channels, but does that REALLY mean it does it simultaneously. It just not clear enough to say that for sure. It seems that is what they are saying, but it seems to me to be able to record data from 3 different channels at the same time would require multiple tuners. Perhaps they found a way to do it, but it will be interesting to see how this feature works.

"as it is built today"...which is precisely why I said that I rather think what I have suggested is a possibilty in the future if it were not today...but indeed possible.

I think it is...but as I alluded to...I can not logically tell you how a bumblebee can fly when logically there is so much arguing against something of that mass being propelled by such small wings as I am not an antomologist. Likewise, I would be unable to tell you how this could be done with an S50 device--only that I wager it can/will be possibile at a reasonable cost...and funny isn't it how you even bring up 'reasonable price' when the manufacture could not build what is essentially an MP3 player/recorder capable of holding 1 gig of info for under $300...well, $400 if you take into account the fact that most everyone will HAVE to purchase a 'home dock'. This when you can get an IPOD or MP3 player capable of doing basically the same thing for FAR less cost. Anyway, like I said, time will tell.

The IPOD doesn't provide live reception to Sat Radio that requires a chipset with many other electronics. Nor does it require anything, but a dock with power, not other electronics as well. So naturally the S50 would cost more. I do think you are right, time will prove that there will not be a device of this nature because its just not cost effective, due to what would be required. You pointed out that the S50 is already over priced, it would really be over priced if it could do what you suggest. Just as the receiver with the multiple tuners proves to us.

I sure wish it was? But to answer your question there is no Software for Mac Having just gotten a Mac, I really wish they would have provided software. I LOVE MY MAC and I never though I'd ever say that.

I am not really sure, but I know it will be USB. To connect to the tuner, so maybe someone will come to our rescue.
