I didn't contact them, I just noticed the charge and hoped it was a good sign.

[quote="taxinvestor"]' After recording up to 10 separate blocks of programming, users listening to each block would be able to view artist, title and genre information as a song is playing but not be able to select individual songs for playback. As the songs are played, however, consumers can opt to save each song as they listen to it. The songs would then be selected for playback by metadata.
quote]
HUH! You mean we won't be able to scroll and skip songs when playing back recordings like you can do with the MyFi?? That sucks!
This is the first that I'd heard of this. I often skip over songs I don't care for on my MyFi, or go back or skip to certain sections I want to hear again. This seems like a dumb move. Why not engineer it just like the MyFi where you can skip wherever you want? Do we at least get some sort of fast forward/rewind where you can move about during recordings? I hope so. But still, it would be much better to skip by individual tracks. If this can be done easily on the MyFi which has much less memory, why couldn't this have been done on this unit?

I am still really looking forward to this unit, but so far, the lack of this feature is my biggest dissapointment and something I wasn't aware of.

Metadata can mean a lot of things, but it sounds like you can opt to save individual songs from the block and call them up later; and certainly you will be able to FF through a block. If you want a particular song saved you could always grab it off the net and port it over to the S50 as an mp3 - the unit has room for that.

I don't have a sub yet, but it's my hope I won't need to cling to songs since there is so much variety on sirius.

I prefer to focus on "no real shipment delays" rather than "in time for the holidays".

We charge at the time of purchase. For us and some of the other online retailers this gives us a direct number of units in which to purchase. Otherwise the result would be perhaps too many units ordered or not enough.

We are still being told that the S50s will ship out from the Distributor on Nov 10th. We would receive them the next day and have many orders that will ship that day. Unfortunately the free shipping option is for the United States Postal Service and they are closed on Friday since it is Veterans Day. So many of the Free Shipping orders will go out on Saturday.

Hey everyone!!!!! Hope to get a warm welcome as I am moving to the Big Dog and wanting an S50 ASAP!

Has anyone spotted them in a store yet? I am considering buying from the Sirius store but this device is like something I want yesterday.

I have an XM Myfi and this thing looks to blow the doors off that thing. Since I have Dish I have been sampling Sirius again and I have to say in a years time the quality of the playlists and DJ's in the genre's I listen to are starting to reallly beat XM in my opinion ESPECIALLY their Rock stations. XM cant touch Sirius in the Top 40 and Rock categories.

Anyway look for me around in the Install Forum soon. Hoping to be another happy Sirius sub!

They haven't shown up in stores yet. I'm sure as soon as one does, someone on here will report it.

Since you have a MyFi, I hope you realize that the S50 can't listen to live content when you carry it around, it has to be sitting in its dock to get satellite content.

Yep I am aware of that. I've been lurking in this forum for a couple weeks. No biggie to me since it holds such a massive amount of content.

My Myfi still has plenty of use into it though. It was cool when I was on vacation in California on a train from San Jose to San Fran listening to live content using its built in antenna. Not to mention I was able to get a signal on the plane with the built in antenna from time to time. When I couldnt get a signal I was listening to stored content. As long as you are in an area with repeater coverage the Myfi works very well. At least mine does.

I could easily see the S50 being my player of choice and the Myfi going by the wayside down the road. The player itself is awesome looking and the features are amazing for such a small device.

Cool, I was just making sure you knew. I hope you enjoy it, it's a little expensive for me.
