The $50 rebate did it for me and the $70 dollar price drop before launch. I wouldnt ever dream of paying $400 for it.

Where did you see $400? It was $359.

I stand corrected. I thought I remembered an initial preview that had a suggested retail of $399. But at $279 after MIR its not bad if you think of it as an MP3 player + Sat combined.

I've already sold off some stuff I dont use anymore on Ebay to grab this device. If I dont see it this weekend at the stores and you have some in stock you will see an order come down the pipe from me.

Thanks again and I appreciate the correction!!!

Will this bad boy plug into the Aux-IN of car stereos or is it going to require FM transmission?

Yes it will have an audio-out put on the cradle so you can plug it directly into your car's setup using an RCA cable. I would assume you could also plug it in directly to the S50 if you wanted to just listen to the recorded content on battery power.

ANyone know if the home dock will work in the car?? I have a great place in my car but the home dock would be my only choice. The car dock is too long for where i want to install it. Otherwise i'll need to get another SUB.

thx

Well technically I dont see why it wouldnt. You just would have to make sure you power the home cradle with the correct voltage and amps it wants.

Only thing I would be worried about is if you live in an area where the temp gets cold. The cradle might have an issue there.

I'm wondering just the opposite: will the car kit work in the home like all of the other cradles do? That is, will the jacks on the car cradle take the ac adapter and vice-versa from a home unit? On my PNP3 I actually have a home kit in the car and plug the cig. adapter into it. It sits in a comparment in the minivan.

OK, here's the BIG question. Did the Sirius Store receive the S50 today?

The internal storage is 1GB. If MP3s are uploaded via a PC, it automatically reallocates space from the cached SIRIUS content. There are no add-in card options.

I called Sirius today to see if things are still on track and they said that sirius.com will have it on sale tomorrow. Best Buy, when I called, (philadelphia) said they probably won't have it on shelves until November 22nd or so. I hope sooner, my ipod broke and now have a $300 credit for bestbuy...thank you extended warranty

This would be old info. And unfortunately not everyone is aware of what the new updates are. They change often.

I would bet sirius.com will NOT have it tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with Las Vegas. Here are the current odds:

S50 release date will be pushed back again - 2:1
Unavaliable before Thanksgiving - 3:1
Unavailable before Christmas - 20:1
S50 never gets released - 50:1
REGO will beat S50 to stores - Pick 'em
BB users will continue to be frustrated, mystified, and kept in the dark - No line
