Default Call Me Crazy

Okay...so maybe I'm just imagining this...Its seems since I got the Starmate Replay, I seem to be getting a stronger signal...I used to have that Sanyo (its crap, dont bother,) I would always know when the drop outs would happen, now they dont...is this possible? I didnt even change the antenna!

I don't pay enough attention to make a truly profound statement, but I do get a near-solid 10 SAT with my StarmateR in the car. Before that, I had the XACT XTR7 in the car, and the few times I checked, I seem to recall getting a balanced signal between SAT and TER, sometimes full TER. Maybe it's the 3.0G chipset, or maybe we're just crazy, and it's just the antenna. Either way, I have no complaints in the car.

The car...no complaints...thank whoever that I'm not the only one noticing this...plus, when I had the sanyo, I used my home kit antenna, and got crap reception (2-5 bars sat,) and now I use the car antenna that came with my Starmate R...just got some propulsion going, and tossed it on the roof of my apartment...10 SAT BARS! Who knows...

I use my the car remote in my apt for my starmate as well. I did it mostly for aesthetic reasons but I find that although my satellite signal is weak it (I get full repeater coverage) it is slightly better then the home antenna. go figure indeed.

Have fun with it - it's hands-down SIRIUS' best radio, in my opinion. It was my second radio, too (should've been my first). I like this radio so much I want to buy another one, just so I can stare at it brand-new in the package all day long. Um, because I'm crazy like that.

Anyway, enjoy that radio.

Jim

Actually you aren't crazy in my opinion, I can verify via my experience that I too get better reception with this tuner. I've also said this tuner has better sound as well; deeper bass and better separation. My comparison on the drop-outs is my JVC/Sirius Connect tuner, which I can say without any doubt gets more drop-outs. SQ wise they are tit for tat, but compared to my older Streamer PNP, I can tell a difference.

Like many of you that have this new tuner I think it is the best Sirius Tuner to date. I just wish they would come out with a boombox option, because that would put this puppie over the top.

No in tenohtwo's signature it's the Xact XTR7 which I've seen sold at walmart and target.

I think I am finally going to get it installed next week. I got the mount, and the FM switch. Still debating on where to mount it.

I'm getting tired of my poor-girl install where I just have the antenna on my passenger seat and the radio propped up in one of my compartments.
lol.

But so far I love the radio!

Try the above and behind the rearview mirror install. The more I see Sirius_Son's install the more I like it.

Where did you find the mount? I am assuming that you are speaking of the dash mounted kit that is displayed on the packaging but has not been released yet. Correct?
