Thanks for the pictures.

I really can't believe how small that is!!!!!

My Starbase is nice, but I miss having 10 presets. I may have to look into this (though I don't really understand when you would need a recorder ).

Lastly... can I get a picture of the back of it? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Nice and flat for use with velcro. I think this is a better setup than the Starbase. You don't have to worry about hiding a bigger tuner under the dash, seat or trunk. Plus it is portable by simply unplugging the 3 wires on the side and taking it into the home or office yet its still about the same size as the Starbase's display controller. Also I think if you install the wires correct you can do just as clean of an install.

Awsome pictures. I thougt there was an amps compatable mount on the back of this unit. How would I use an amps (4 hole ) pattern bracket with this unit? I'm thinking of using something like this (see link below) to clip it to my vent or actually bolt it to a part of my counsol using this crafty little swivle thing that I already have from a PDA mount. All I need is to get the 4 hole adapter plate for Sirius

Look in that bottom picture at the suction cup mount. The mounting bracket is attched to the suction cup mount and it has the AMPS pattern. The Starmate Replay simple snaps into that mounting bracket.

this snap in and snap out , is it smooth? Will it handle many snapping in and outs when moving the unit from car to office then back to car durring the work week? Is it solid as far as holding the unit in? Does it look like I can de-attach the mounting bracket from the suction cup arm?
How about this suction cup part can I bolt it down to the center counsel or something rather then use the suction to glass? The last thing I want to do is attach it to my wind sheld so I need to know what my mounting options are if I don't use the suction part the way it was ment to be used (yuck).

I've unsnapped and snapped it several times, it appears to work very well. There is a little lever that sticks up to make it easier to unsnap, so I don't see that it would wear out.

I wouldn't think you would bolt the suction cup mount down as that is not what it was designed for, nor can you unbolt the mounting. It is a solid piece. So you'll have to come up with something else if you don't plan to use the suction cup mount. In my company van I am planning to just use velcro as this thing is so light it will stay with no problem. I have used the suction cup mount this week, but then I am sort of partial to them as they have worked very well in the years I have used them in my company van. That really makes it easy to move around as well. But since there is the AMPS pattern bracket that snaps onto the tuner the possibilities are unlimited, but you'll have to figure that out on your own based on your own preferences.

I'm the friend that Josh is referring to. I've put in four calls to Sirius and every time it's the same thing... we don't see your ESN in the database. During my most recent call (15 minutes ago), I was told that I should get a call back within an hour because the ESN needs to be registered in the database before they can activate my account and associate this radio to it.

Sigh... I just want to listen to some music.

When you call SIRIUS, make very sure you are talking to someone in the New York Call Center (sometimes refrered to as "Retention") if they can't help you, send me a PM with your sid and I'll see what I can do for ya.

I just talked to CMA and they are now aware of the problem. They were not aware of the problem, but are now. They or I will hopefully post shortly with some kind of status.

Default DAB's Starmate Replay Review

As far as I know CMA is the ONLY company selling the Replay right now so the ESN`s of the units sold probably R not in the data base yet.Give it a couple of minutes.

I would agree with that is I and many others that already bought them had this same problem, but that hasn't been the case. I got mine the next day after they were released and it was authorized with no issues.

I think this is a fluke ESN that just didn't get put in the system.

Yeah, CMA is on it now, there discussing the issue with Directed currently.

The odd thing is that my Replay activated without an issue.

Brian is all set. Perhaps he will report back on his first impressions of Sirius from his road trip.
