Default New user: Received sirius device via ebay--Turned on!

I am a new user to this board and a new user of sirius.
I have a problem that I need help with.
I bought a device online on Ebay and installed in on Sat.
The problem is, its already on. I emailed the guy who I bought it from and he has not responded yet.
Is there a way to find out what type of subscription this device has on it?
I would have assumed that the device would be turned off.
What could possibly be a reason its turned on?
One of the biggest reasons for using sirius is that I also want to be able to take advantage of listening to the channels as they stream via the internet.
Any thoughts on how I should handle this?
If I called up Sirius, would they tell me if the device has a lifetime or 2 yrs subscription on the device?

A bit tricky if you're planning to use the internet. If not for that, I'd just say enjoy the free service while it lasts.

Question

My best guess is that the unit has been deactivated from the account of the person you bought it from. It just takes a little time for it to stop working.

Give Sirius a call and set up your own account. Then you can stream via your own password.

Good Luck!...

it sounds like you may have purchased a radio from someone who either A.) Stole a demo model from a retailer, or B.) purchased a demo unit from the retailer and the store forgot to deactivate it.

Sirius usually turns off demo radios every 3 months or so and retailers need to call in and reactivate it. even though they are deactivated, the radio stays registered to that retailer.

i have a buddy who bought 1 off of ebay that said "free service." 2 months later Sirius turned off service on it. when he called to reactivate it sirius told him it was registered to a store and the store had to take it off of their account first before they would reactivate it. the guy who sold it to him on ebay would not answer his emails as to where he bought the radio from, so the radio is now a paper weight.

I should have posted a follow up. First, its a KTC-SR903 (Not the 902)
The guy who sold it to me told me that another unit that he bought used gave him about 6 months of service before it went out on him.

Update*****
I just called Sirius and they said the device is in process of being deactivated. Which is inline what the guy I bought it from told me.
