Default streamer replay and sportster questions

what is the difference between the two. I'm gonna be switchin over to sirius from XM and I'm trying to decide which radio to get. also i read that the starmate is a pain to get out of your vehicle if you like to bring it in on a regular basis, is this true? thanks ahead of time.

Other than the manufacturer and the color of the radio, there is no functional difference between the Sportster and Streamer Replay that I know of.

The Starmate doesn't have a true dock (that I know of), hence you have to pull the plugs from the side of it when removing, then re-insert them when re-installing that radio. Someone posted a home-made dock here once, though.

The dock for the Sportster or Streamer Replay's makes removing and re-installing as simple as sliding it into the dock, and a little lock/release lever on the rear of the dock.

Personally I have the Streamer Replay. While I like the sharpness of the display on the Starmate, I don't like the cables on the side (unless you use the DIN accessory instal plate). Hence I bought and use the Streamer Replay in my daily driver. The Starmate I have is in another car where it is more permanently mounted, and the plugs are not an issue in that car (same with my Visor).
