It really is a matter of a week and a few days before they start shipping out.

This is such an amazing solution for people who want excellent sound at home.

I've preordered one from Crutchfield. I'm kind of excited by it as it's a great solution. I'll be sure to post some pics and info when it comes in. I do hope the it will output audio to the Optical and the RCA at the same time. I have to use an analog audio signal to feed my Zone 2 speakers. But to listen to football at the same time my reciever switches the HDMI video signal to the TV I need be able to choose a digital input. Quirky.

We got notice last night they are on the way to us. We will get some on Monday.

I think this product will be fantastic. Once people listen to SIRIUS with more of a direct connection like with the Conductor they will be blown away at how great it is.

Mine shipped today from Crutchfield which now has it in stock. Used an online coupon to snag it for $129! I'll post some impressions in a few days.

Smile Our Conductor Just Ordered

'Just ordered ours on Crutchfield. 'Got two in-dash units on our Dodge and Jeep so this will be the house unit. I'll also post comments about the Conductor when it arrives and is hooked up.

It appears that the conductor is part of the Fall Rebate program, and gets a $30 rebate, not just at Circuit City.

Do you know when you are going to get it? I'm curious about a hands on review.

My question is this: is the Conductor just a SIRIUS Connect with a remote and an adaptor for the Connect unit to recognize the remote, or is it a somewhat redesigned Connect with internal modifications that takes advantage of the remote? It would be great if the base unit could be used just like a Connect in future gear. The pictures seem to look that way but you never know with SIRIUS.

None of the SIRIUS Connect Units can connect using RCA Audio Cables the way that the Conductor Can.

On the SIRIUS Connect Vehicle Units they all have their own harnesses to connect to various Headunits.

On the SIRIUS Connect Home it uses a Proprietary connector that only a SIRIUS Ready Headunit can use.

Then the Remote is absolutely unique.

could you elaborate on that a little ..maybe a picture of this "special" Conductor RCA connector or am I missing something ..

I dont have the remote just the SCH1 .. I thought the Conductor was an SCH1
with an optional remote.. or is their a different radio with the Conductor ??

edit well I just noticed who I was replying too thanks for the supergreat service !! , now you have me tempted to
order a Conductor.. dont mind another radio but I dread the thought of another remote

thanks
..Dale

We will get them in on Monday. And will have better pictures of the unit and the connectors then. The pictures we've been supplied with at this point to explain much.

I would think that those who ordered from Crutchfield, assuming they had it in stock on Wed, should have it by now or Monday.

Hopefully they can help too.

Sorry for the late report. I received my Sirius Conductor yesterday and it was just what I needed. I have hidden the little box, and it is a little thing, very light, back in my media cabinet and I must say that it works great. I have hooked it up with both the optical (not included) and analog cables and I am very happy that they output sound simultaneously. That was important to me as my receiver will not not output digital audio to Zone2 and it also lets me easily switch in the digital audio with HDMI video for simulcasting of football. Just what I needed.

The remote takes some getting used to. The menu system is little clunky if you ask me but I was able to set up all my devices on the one remote. It does learning so after setting a code I could go back and add functions that the code didn't include. The Sirius button is cool in that it is set up like a macro so that one push turns on the Conductor, my receiver and even switches the receiver input to the correct setting for Sirius. The range of the remote is adequate but doesn't cover my whole house as I had hoped.

The included antenna is a little nicer than others I have seen. Bigger with a thicker cable for outdoors. But since I already had an antenna set up for this location I just plugged in the existing cable.

All and all, I am very happy. I got $20 off at Crutchfield and I hope to snag the $30 rebate as well so it makes it a great deal. One problem with the rebate though; Sirius will not qualify the Conductor. It says the UPC is invalid even though the form clearly states the Conductor as eligible so I'll still send it in.

I have some pictures I could post but Its too much trouble to resize them. If somebody PMs me I could send them the pictures and somebody else can host them or resize them.

About that one connector. Its a DIN type connection for adding a second tuner, namely the Sirius Connect tuner.

The Conductor is a fully independent tuner that is controlled from that remote. The Sirius Connect tuner is not independent. It needs a Sirius-Ready home audio system in order to work/control. (Not that I've seen many of them. Tons of XM ready but I've never even seen a Sirius ready AVR. Which I guess is the whole point of the Conductor. Having the display on the remote works a lot better than having it on the front of a receiver.)

What the Conductor does for the Connect is to allow the Connect to be controlled via the Conductors remote when the Connect is attached to the Conductor via the 8-pin DIN cable. That will then give you two separate tuners controlled by the one remote.

I'm not sure why you would want to do that though. I guess you could rig a second tuner up for another room or zone so maybe that config is useful for certain types of whole house audio.
