Default Sarmate Replay Boombox popping noise

I just recently bought the Starmate Replay Boombox, model ST-B2. It's been great, but one thing that bugs me is that it makes a pop sound when it is turned on and also when turned off. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the amplifier circuitry.

Anyone else with this boombox have this issue?

Yes, this is a normal condition of the boombox. I believe it is the internal amplifier shutting down. When you pause your receiver it will shut down, and pop after about 20 seconds of being inactive. Then when powering back up when unpaused or turned on, it will pop again.

It's just a part of the unit. Don't worry about it.

Though, if you turn the volume down too low on the box or receiver, it will power down, even if you can still faintly hear music. So, just keep it turned up enough on the receiver.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully the pop doesn't do any damage over time.

Turn your boombox on. Get some sound. Then push pause. Give it around 20 seconds and you should hear a slight "pop" noise. Then push pause again, you should hear the same pop again before you hear sound.

It's faint, but noticeable.

I have a boombox also. It is normal for it to pop.
