Default Which One?

First post-Thanks in advance. I am looking to purchase my first Sirius set up and would like some advice. I am deciding between starlight 4 & sportster 4-what is the difference? Also I see kits including car, home & boombox for $225 on e-bay-good idea?. Thanks again and take care!

I know that others would disagree, but I wouldn't buy a Sirius Radio off of ebay. I buy all my radios from tss-radio. The prices are great and the service is, too...

The Starmate 4 and the Sportster 4 are very nice radios. Both can use the same Boombox.

If you're going to use it in the car, you're going to need one of these...

The choice is yours. You really can't go wrong with either on.

Good luck...

The Sporster 4 has a docking connector the Starmate doesn't.

The dock makes it very eazy to remove the radio and move it.

Check your facts, blazer.

The Starmate4 has a universal docking connector, as semipenguin implied.

tlrrider, you were talking about the Starmate, right?

The Capn is right on that one. The only difference between the Starmate 4 and the Sportster 4, is the size of the units, and the interface. The Sportster has a little knob to use, while the Starmate just has the buttons to press. Beyond that, they're both the same.

Sorry to confuse you, tlr. I was right about the docking station.

Nobody has really come out on one side or another, yet. Your best bet is to follow the links semipenguin provided (click on the words with blue letters) and look at the pics and read the descriptions.

FWIW, I suspect most people who have a preference would go with the newer version of what they have. Ferinstnace, I have a Sportster Replay, so I would probably go with the Sportster4.

Let us know what you decide.
