Default Is SIR-KEN1 the best for a KDC-X990 excelon?

Just picked them both up and while most of the threads are older, seems a lot of bashing on the SIR-KEN1. One recent post says the issues have been resolved.

I plan on adding the Kenwood HD100TR tuner so I think I have to have the pass-through or pick one or the other.

I have no problem picking up a KTC-SR903 if that's going to be a better performer.

Anyone have an up to date story on if the most recent SIR-KEN1's have the bugs worked out with 2006 receivers?

Thanks
Å

Id like to know that as well I have a 790 model. Also let me know how that HD setup goes... that thing is getting cheaper and cheaper.

The SIR-KEN1 is the only Sirius direct connect tunner for Kenwood radios.

The only other option is a PNP unit.

The nice thing about a PNP is all the extra features like song seek
pause FF and REW.

The Kenwood 901, 902 and 903 can still be purchased for Sirius radio on a Kenwood.

The HD is a bit away...we only have 10 HD stations in my metropolitan area and most of them are things I am not interested in.

HD Radio Stations in WEST PALM BEACH
Station Dial Pos. HD-1 Format HD-2 Format
WXEL-FM 90.7 Clscl/NPR
WRLX-FM 92.1 Softer Sound Adult Contemp. Music
WMBX-FM 102.3 Contemporary Hit Radio Old School Hip-Hop
WPBZ-FM 103.1 Rock/Alternative Adult Alternative Music
WEAT-FM 104.3 Adult Contemporary Upbeat Contemporary Music for Adults
WOLL-FM 105.5 Adult Contemporary
WJBW-FM 106.3 Urban Music Gospel
WIRK-FM 107.9 Country Country Southern Rock Blend
WJNA-AM 640 Nostalgia
WSBR-AM 740 Bus News

My favorite stations are above though...just two of them. Don't know if the experience is worth the $150+ payout and giving up some FM features I hear.

Anyone know how HD impacts your normal FM radio. I have not heard good things...like losing all the fringe stations and gaining static on others.
