Default Sportster died... what to do now?!?!?

I've had a Sirius Sportster for about 4 months now. Over the past few weeks, it has been gradually losing signal. Two days ago, it completely stopped receiving any signal. I tried a friends antenna, and I know for sure that it is the antenna, and not the unit. I have a few options now as to what I can do, and I want some people's suggestions to help me to decide.
1. I have been into FutureShop(Canada) and they will gladly take the entire system back and replace it with a new model. I can pretty much get any of the new units. Unfortunately/fortunately, the old Sportster is sold out and I can only get the new Sportster 4 or Starmate 4. I can simply exchange my old system for one of these(which one is better?) My only problem with doing this is that I use the fm transmitter to listen in my car. Luckily I don't live in a major metropolitan center where the dial is flooded with stations, but this does matter to me.
2. I can keep my old unit and look at buying a new antenna. I'm not sure if this option would be ideal since I would probably have to have a unit shipped from the US and that might be a bit expensive considering I can get a new one free with a new unit.
3. I can keep looking around for an old unit at some FutureShop somewhere.

I really do like the look of the new Sportster 4/Starmate 4. I also like the feature that allows you to do artist seek and not just song seek. I have heard that the new models don't have auto dim... I really liked that feature. As you can see, I am quite confused at to what to do. If I knew for sure that the new model would at least have alright fm transmitting to my stereo, I would definitely be going out tonight and exchanging the two. In the future I may end up connecting it a better way, but my problem is that I switch it between two cars, and don't really want to spend a lot to rewire both cars. Anyways... long story short, What do you people think I should do. Thank you so much. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Matt

Cool

Wow, none of those options aren't too bad.

I've heard the Sportster 4 is a nice unit. If you go that route, you'll need an Wired FM Modulator Relay. They don't cost alot, so it be like paying for an upgrade...

Default

The new generation recievers are better imo than the original...if you wanted the best from your(new) reciever you could explore the many inexpensive and simple fm direct options...I also move my reciever to multiple vehicles...
Having said all that it seems to me if your happy with your current reciever you should just get a new antenna...
Good luck!
