Post SIRIUS SUBX1 Boombox (Universal Boombox)... Is it loud? How is it??

Anyone have one of these? I have the Starmate and bought the boomcube for it. Its great inside the home or garage, but i took it to the USC/UCLA tailgate and found out it's drowned out in the open field by loud conversations around it. Its great in close quarters, but we decided to break out the big CD/Cassette/FM boombox cuz it was louder.
Ive noticed the Universal Boombox is much bigger, but is it louder? Anyone have one??? Thanks.

In an open area with hundreds if not thousands of people around, there is no way these boomboxes would get loud enough. I've had some killer boomboxes in my time, but in that environment it is hard to find one that would get loud enough to be able to really hear it. To pipe music into an environment like that, would require am amp setup with some nice big speakers, then you could jam. I think some of you are expecting way, way too much out of a $99/$129 boombox. What are these things about 10 watts max.

I just got the boombox for the Stiletto and that baby rocks, but I wouldn't expect that in an open area that it would be loud enough. But for what most of us would use it for, it will get plenty loud. I used it this weekend at a bonfire and it was great. But then none of us like to have the music so loud that we can't hear ourselves talk either. Inside now it will bump pretty good and can actually get too loud. The Stiletto is 30 watts peak, but it wouldn't work in that environment as its just not designed for that.

Question Can I use the universal boombox with the starmate replay?

I have a starmate replay, (with the old fm transmitter, still going strong) that I bought exactly one year ago. Will it work with the new universal boombox?

actually, the starmate 3 and 4 work. The starmate replay will not, nor will the old Sportster 1 and 2. The newer units are all coming out with universal plugs, kinda like the iPods, so they all click on the newer technology.
