Just had a Sirius radio tuner and satellite radio installed at Circuit City. $100 for the tuner, $139 radio, $60 for installation.

There is a Kenwood Tuner, where there is no need for another Tuner. Someone here probably knows the Model #.

Here's a link to the Kenwood Head Unit. It's from Crutchfield, but keep in mind that you have to activate the satellite radio in order for it to even function. It's an EZ-700SR

The EZ700 also has built in HD tuner as well if you like that sort of thing.

Hey Joker, just to help out a bit. If you read the specs on that, it says that it's just an HD ready unit, that requires an external tuner module. If either specs are off let me know. I do believe there is a radio out there done by JVC, that has a built in HD tuner, but not this one from Kenwood.

The Kenwood is alright, it has a one line display like my 4 year old Pioneer does with PNR-1 Sirius tuner...

The OEM looking unit is also overpriced

Depending on your needs, I think one of the JVC head units with add-on Sirius tuner will give you the features you want for a reasonable price.

This JVC goes for under $200

Add the Sirius tuner for another $100 and for $139 less than the OEM unit and about $70 less than the Kenwood, you have a deck that has a ton of featues not to mention USB input and 2 line display with Channel indicator and signal meter when Sirius in use.

Well ain't that interesting. Crutchfield either had the specs wrong this summer, or this is a redesigned version. I looked at this exact model earlier this summer (settled instead on the DPX701), and they had it listed as having both Sirius and HD tuners built in. That was the only reason I considered it honestly, because the display is truly pisspoor.

EDIT: DOH, I was thinking of the EZ900, sorry.

Ok, so we're up to about 300. Check.

OEM is 439, so 139 less is 300. Ok. We're good so far.

The kenwood is 250, you are up to 300 on the jvc. How is the jvc 70 less?

Wow, I didn't even know about the EZ900. I'll have to look that one up, it sounds like a great all-in-one solution.

It really is a slick unit. But the one line display is the killer here. It's a 2005 unit that won't be brought back, so basically you'll have to check ebay, etc..

That's according to the pricing I saw and frankly for the money the JVC has the superior display to any aftermarket unit when you look at the features available on this JVC and compare it to Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood.

The 2 line display that is actually FUNCTIONAL with Directed's Sirius tuner.

Get the JVC, I would, but they don't have a Bluetooth adaptor, yet...
