Lightbulb What to do???

Starmate Replay ST2 owner. Got unit with car and home kit last Christmas and added the boombox in June. Use it in the car over FM and at work with headphones and the home kit since the repeater signal booms into my office.

The aux out on the original unit went dead in July and after 2 months of waiting on the warranty replacement, I called to complain about the delay. I got the lost order razzmatazz and they actually sent me a replacement refurbed ST2 pretty quickly after that...an ST2 with the castrated FM modulator.

Today, I came home to a package on the doorstep from Sirius. I was hoping that it was a Stiletto that was misdirected since I was not expecting anyting.

Inside the box, I find a Sportster 4 and car kit. In a separate baggie there's a cassette adapter, extra RCA cord, a Direct FM Modulator, a card for free professional insallation and a letter apologizing for the delay and offering free service equal to the time that I was without a radio.

Here's the question (I wasn't just bragging about my good fortune)

My current ride is a lease vehicle and I'm out from under the car in July.

I was originally planning on suffering through the FM Modulator Blues until then as our other car has an older XACT unit direct connected through an AUX adapter for the factory head unit. I'll be driving that car come July while the wife gets a new car that will probably have Sirius from the factory.

Is it worth my effort to have the direct connect installed in the lease car (I can leave that behind when I dump it) with the knowledge that I will have to replace the boombox and buy a new home kit for work to keep the same functionality??

Is the Sportster 4 a decent rig? Is it worth the money to capitalize on Sirius' mess up? Did I lose you already because I took too long to get to the point?

Thanks in advance.
