and I want it invisible too. Can't stand seeing all this equipment..

I don't know what's in the works, but the stiletto isn't really that big, I throw mine in my pocket and forget about it.
How small do you want it? with current technology, it can't be as small as those tiny mp3 players.

I just had my brain-stem SIRIUS implant installed, but it gets so hot, has no clock, and the 75.2 year battery is just too short.

Shut ya bitchin!!!!

I am just so tired of having to roll this wheel barrel around to hold my Stiletto.

I think the Stiletto is okay in terms of size. I take mine with me everywhere I go and I just have no issue with the size.

The Inno/Helix is smaller, but look what you are left with that tiny display and text. NO THANK YOU! I hate that freaking display.

Considering that SIRIUS is a chipset behind XM, I do think they will become thinner, but hope SIRIUS doesn't follow XM in making them with smaller displays. A smaller chipset that runs cooler provides longer battery life.. Yeah that would be great. But keep the bigger display and if that means the unit itself has to remain somewhat bigger, I am all for it.

OK, maybe I was a little off (mentaly) when I responded, but really, I don't think the xm players are that small, are they? they always seemed a little shorter, but a little wider. Guess I don't pay enough attention to them.. and plus, they all look the same to me, are they all cut from the same mold and rebranded, or are actual different players being made?

and yes, I know smaller and lighter things will come our way, obviously. But at the same time, I guess I don't see the size and weight thing as an issue. Like the previous posts made fun of, this thing aint no anvil, not even close. You'd think it came with a complimentary luggage rack and weight lifting belt to help you move it the way people talk.

They are? XM's 3g chipset was released for production in early Nov of 2003. The first radio using this chipset was the Roady 2 followed by the SkyFi2, XR9 and the MyFi. There was an update released in March 2005 that incorporated changes for better integration with XM's custom RF tuner chip. While it's sometimes refered to as their 3.5g chipset, there were no other apparent enhancements. The reality is XM's single chip solution has remained fundamentally unchanged for over 3 years. And in that same time frame Sirius has released how many new chipsets?

Let's see I had a gen1 XM tuner, I had a gen2 tuner and I had a gen3 tuner, they've also declared the current chipset was improved though not totally new but as you said sort of a 3.5g. You can call it what you want, but technically they are a chipset a head of SIRIUS. Why would that be, probably because they just latched on to exisisting technology vs SIRIUS that practically had to design the technology from scratch. The rolvings sats have proved much more difficult than anticipated, this was much of the reason that they've always run hotter and are larger. Clearly the playing field is getting close to level, but XM is still ahead.

Why don't you tell us how many chipset Sirius has had, also give us a run down of the history of their technology versus XM. Tell us how it is you feel SIRIUS isn't really behind technically chipset wise. Are you playing the Intel vs AMD game now?

I really don't get how some people consider the Stiletto "big" and "heavy."

The 30GB iPod:

4.1 x 2.4 x 0.43 and weighs 4.8 ounces

The Stiletto:

4.6 x 2.1 x 0.7 and weighs 4.7 ounces

As you can clearly see the Stilleto isn't that much bigger and weighs LESS than the iPod.

Yet no one bellyaches about the weight of the iPod. While there's certain things they could improve on the Stiletto, the size and weight isn't a factor when you look at the numbers. These are the same people they can manage to put a full can of beer that weighs 5 times as much to their mouth hundreds of time a night yet somehow we are to believe carrying 4.7 ounces around is such a freakin' task. Enough already, people!

I have an idea. Head on over to XM land. You can whine to them all you want. Also you could buy a ipod shuffle it's small, and has no content on it. Which means you'll listen to your personal boring library day after day. Best part the shuffle has absolutely no interface. Sounds like just the product your looking for. Huh?
