Default docking station compatability

So my Sportster of 2 years may be in need of an overhaul. It still works fine, but the home docking station just doesn't work anymore. So I'm now at a cross-roads: buy a replacement, or buy a new radio.

I love my old, original Sportster. It takes a beating and just keeps working. That said, I understand new technology is available and perhaps I'm missing out by being so loyal to my old Sportster. So I'm looking at new radios: Sportster replay, Sportster 4, stilleto, starmate. My questions are: the new docking stations compatible with different radios or is it still sportster docking station for sportster only, stilleto docking for stilleto only etc. How do these new radios match up to the old Sportster? Is it worth changing everything or just replace the docking station?

To get a new home docking station for my old Sportster will run me close to $50. I could put that towards a new radio but then risk shelling out more $$$ for potentially nothing. My car and work are set up for the old Sportster and I have the boombox for it also.

Default

All the new radios except the Stilleto use a universal docking system, so all new radios will be compatible with the same dock

The older radios are not compatible

I finally let my Xact Xtr1 go after 2 years, I was loyal as well, but I am very happy with my Starmate 4 so far!
