Default Which receiver is right?

I'm thinking about getting sirius for my truck. I have two worries. I live in a bad area so I cant leave any trace of nice stuff inside, so I'll have to take it completely out. I think the antena will be ok. Also, I'm probably going to get a car to commute in, so it will be mostly in there. I'll be taking it out everynight.

Ive been look in at the starmate 4 and the sporster 4, and recently noticed the s50. Any other receivers a good shot? Ive read on here of problems with constantly taking it out.

Thanks for the help

Jake

I don't know about the S50, but the Starmate 4 and Sportster 4 are easy to pop out of the docks.

These units are still fairly new so there havent' been any complaints yet. But, the connectors are pretty sturdy, so I can't see any real problems cropping up.

The Starmate is a bit smaller than the Sportster. It will be a little bit harder to read and operate, but easier to slip in a shirt pocket and carry around when you're out of the car.

Of course, you can only use the Starmate and Sportster in the car, while the S50 lets you go portable.. If you want to go portable you'll have to get the S50.. (They're cheap now too )

But.. I've read SO much bad stuff about the S50 on this forum over the last year, that personally I'd stay away from it.. Go to the S50 forum and scroll back a page or two throught he messages.. You'll see what I mean.

My wife has had the SIRIUS XACT Visor for over a year but hardly ever takes it out of the car. It has worked great but is a "no frills" device and the remote does not work too well (being honest). If you can keep it within reach, a remote will not be needed. It is $39 at Meijer this week.
