Post Using a Wall Timer for Sirius radio

A few weeks ago, my XACT XTR1 stopped working so I decided to get a new unit and the cheapest one I found was the Sirius Stratus.

Now everything about the Stratus works great, except for one problem:
I usually had the alarm function on my xtr1 on and synced with the clock radio in my bedroom so that when the clock radio goes off, the XTR1 would start too and I would have Sirius to start my day. However when purchasing the Stratus, I forgot to look for the alarm feature as I was too obsessed with the rebate radio shack had for it.

With that being said, I have a spare wall timer around the house. I know you're not supposed to turn electronic gadgets off at the plug but if I were to hook up the Stratus to the wall timer and have it set to go off when my clock radio rings, would I risk the chance of zapping or doing any massive harm to my Stratus?

Oh, in case you didn't know, this goes without saying; I have a home dock.

i had a sirius one hooked up to a wall timer for most of the last year with no problems. i figured it'd be ok since they are designed to be installed into a car where power goes on and off all the time.
