Default Just got the Sirius InV installed... then I saw the Stratus!

In my haste, I quickly picked up the InV with the free radio offer promo that runs thru January. I went back tonight and saw that the Stratus is also offered FREE... It's pretty darn obvious that the Stratus is a superior choice due to its docking capability. I've already had the InV installed and it does look great, easy to use, sleek, etc.

Oh well... it was a christmas present for my wife and I think she'll love it but it does bother me that I didn't get the "better" radio. Sheesh.

Is the Stratus that much better than the InV?

The only differences, AFAIK, are that the Stratus looks slightly different cosmetically, and it has a docking capability. The buttons on the Stratus are a little harder to use though, because the number pad is not 10 different buttons, but rather 5 sets of 2:

If your wife is only keeping it in the car, then just stay with the InV. In the end, it will have a smaller 'footprint' on the dash because there is no dock needed.

Default Then my wife saw the Starmate

Got a Stratus for my wife for Christmas but she is asking where is the remote like yours? The Stratus looks like it has a infra red sensor. Does it and will a Staramate or equivelent remote work?

Nice! It does seem the InV is more car-friendly but the docking capability is also very cool. In the end, she is only going to keep in the car so I'll probably just stay with it. The connections are also all on one side which makes it look "cleaner" in regards to installation. It looks like the Stratus has inputs on both sides of the unit? I was thinking of just swapping out the units and using the connections that were already installed but if the inputs are split, then it wouldn't work and I don't want to have too much more wire showing.

The Stratus has no regular inputs.. There is just a single compound plug on the bottom that mates with the plug on the dock. You plug the antenna, power etc into the dock (on both sides) .. You can't use the Stratus without a dock.
