Default Sportster 4- no more AUX in?

This weekend I upgraded from the old sportster to a new sportser 4. So far it's great and I got to use the same install except for the 5v power cord. Then yesterday I noticed that there is no AUX on the vehicle dock. I was looking forward to being able to use my mp3 player with it. Was this feature discontinued? I can't find any reference to the AUX feature in the manual or on the Sirius website, but I know it used to be standard. You can see it in the pictures when the unit was reviewed on this site after it's first release.
So far the only real disappointment with this radio (although an auto dim feature would have been nice too).

On a good note, I was expecting to hard wire this unit since I heard all the talk about the bad fm mod. So far I have yet to have a problem, it actually sounds the same as the original sportster as far as SQ. I'd still like to wire it, but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

yea they did remove the aux in and no one really seems to know why. I got lucky when I ordered mine and it has the aux in on it, but there was a paper insert in the manual saying to disregard the aux in instructions because the unit didn't have it.

Yes I was also looking forward to the AUX input to plug in my IPOD, but mine didn't have it either.

Did the aux-in's exist on any of the Sportster 4's? Were they omitted as part of the FM modulator neutering issues with the FCC, or were they ever supposed to offer an aux-in to play through the FM modulator?

I purchased my Sportster 4 this December for Christmas from Sirius' online store, and it did not have an Aux-In. Not that I would use it, because I still have to replace my 2nd Generation iPod's battery...

Does this mean that I own a collectors item?

HomieG, the Aux-In audio quality with the Sportster 4 turned on is absolutely amazing using the Aux-In to the car stereo, noticeably better than that of the audio straight from SIRIUS. With the SIRIUS radio turned off or not on the base at all almost no audio is sent through, you just hear a very low scratchy static.

Yup. In fact I never even considered anything else but a direct audio connection to my aux-in on my head unit for my car with the Streamer Replay. I don't think I've ever tried the FM modulator on that unit.

However I was also pleasantly surprised with the FM modulator audio quality and RF strength on the car with the Visor. Someday I'll either put in an aux interface or an FM relay, although it's really pretty good as-is, and my wife drives that car, not me, most of the time...

I don't have any pics... but I did just recieve the Sportser 4 for Christmas.. purchased from Amazon. The AUX IN was intact, and it's located on the front of the Dock itself.
