I do indeed think we have a great community here. Since when do you gauge a community based on everyone agreeing with each other? Rusty is being Rusty.... Just as I suppose you are being you. All these claims of having folks jumping down your throat. Is that what you call someone that disagrees with you? Rusty is indeed a bit over bearing and direct I'll give you that. Heck I don't always agree with him either. But he is just one poster. I think folks that have disagreed in this thread have done so respectfully. I didn't see anyone called names, belittled or anything else. I did see folks state their opinions very strongly, but if you are bother by thta then I suggest you are overly sensitive. What is the point of now trying to impugn this community. You are new here with 22 post, perhaps you just expected everyone would just agree with you and the fact is that I don't think we do totally disagree with you. You and I certainly agree on some things.

OH, I see so you were just TRYING to be funny... key word TRYING, just like you did when you said, "Is this some secret religious cult that prays to the gods of Sirius satellite radio." hahahahaha I got it now!

ROTFLOL I think you are probably right. But what can you do? You lock it, you get accused of not letting people share their opinions. You don't lock it, it just goes on and on...

and if you do lock it, they'll most likely make another thread called "EVIL MODS AT SBS" and explain how everything is, in their view, Sooooooo one sided.

Just a suggestion I didn't think about first

I called dead horse on page 6. I can understand DAB's dilema, but this one is over. Caveat emptor , let the buyer beware, nuff said.

Regarding e30cabrio's case: If he's had Sirius radios in the past that worked fine, and the new ones don't, it's *entirely* reasonable for him to be pissed at Sirius for not indicating on the boxes that "something has changed." It doesn't matter that that change was due to the old radios violating FCC rules, what matters is that the consumer has a right to expect that products advertised the same way over time *perform* the same way -- or *better!* -- over time. A significant reduction in a product's functionality -- as has occurred with the new FM transmitters -- without any indication on the boxes is not fair to customers. The suggestion that, "well, it's been known on this forum for months that the new transmitters are weak" is silly... plenty of people just want a Sirius or XM radio that works out of the box, and don't have the time or inclination to read these forums.

I do agree that expecting Sirius to say, "contains junky FM transmitter!" or similar is also silly. What they could say is something along the lines of, "Contains low-power FM transmitter; additional equipment may be necessary for connection depending on your radio and the number of FM stations in your area." This way you're still advertising a *feature*, but letting people know that well... they should be prepared for that "feature" not to be the solution they might think it is. What they say now -- "Professional installation recommended for best results" is rather obtuse, but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Yeah, they should put a HUGE WARNING on their products that reads OUR PRODUCTS MAY NOT WORK FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED SO BE FOREWARNED IF YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO TURN ON YOUR BRAIN THIS WEEK IT MAY NOT BE UP TO YOUR 2ND GRADE JUST ARRIVED ON PLANET EARTH LAST WEEK SENSE OF REALITY.

Enjoy your sirius experience.

I'm sure that would sell real well.

So rarely do two posts in a row fully and succintly show the yin and yang of a thing.

Thanks to both of you.

I guess that isn't a jab at some of us if not indirectly at the least? I thought that wasn't allowed here. If that it isn't at least a jab at myself and e30 I don't know what is.

In that case,

Rusty -

Get a life. You are a loser with too much time on your hands, wasting it defending sirius to retards like us that can never understand.

I know you think you are very intelligent, but you really aren't. You probably just need a good hug. Or a punch in the face, either one would probably do.

But then again, I imagine you sit behind your computer, with your pants off most of the time, wish you had actually ever kissed a girl instead of resorting to internet porn (Didn't I see you on that dateline show - how did you get out of prison so fast - you must have a good lawyer - anyway . . . )

But instead, having to be content listening to Sirius, living through others lives (who actually have them). Meanwhile what friends you had, left years ago because they couldn't stand your grumpy, pessimistic, downright depressing outlook on life. That, and they realize you are just a jerk. So they told you to go pound sand.

In all seriousness, Rusty, you are a complete idiot - if you can't see the point that was originally being made. YOU turned this thread into stupidity. If you had such a strong opinion, or you are so thick headed that you can't at least look at something through someone else's eyes - then why not just leave it alone? Sirius doesn't owe us anything I guess as customers? I can't wait until you sit on hold for 40 minutes and them have some retarded representative hang up on you, or some other reality check, so you can leave you blind loyalty at the door. Don't you think if you really HAVE TO HAVE professional installation that a company should have to tell people who may not be as intelligent as you are??????????

I won't even bother responding, i'll let it die, but I wasn't about to get insulted, even if it was an indirect jab.

I won't be surprised if I don't even have an account here tomorrow. And by the way - I think Dab should have locked this thread a while ago, because thick headed people like me don't like to take B.S. from insulting morons like Rustytrombone. Your name suits you well Rusty - I'm sure you enjoy having that done to you on a daily basis. Who gives you the rusty trombone, the Sirius executives????

Hahahaahah

Well just when I thought this thread might actually settle out and remain on topic.

I love how folks always point at the other guy and say look at what you are doing, only to end up being just as bad themselves.

It is like my dear old deceased grandpa use to say. It okay to get in the pen with the pigs, just don't waddle in the mud with them. (just a figure of speech, not calling any one a pig, I know how sensitive some of you are). Anyway... now is as good a time as any to lock this thread thanks to those of you that decided to waddle in the mud.
