Default boombox ac adapter died. Have you had this problem?

The ac power supply for my boombox died a few months after i bought it. I really didn't use it that often and have no idea how it died. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried one that I bought from Radio Shack but the port is too deep for the adapter to fit in. I would like to use my boombox but batteries don't last very long in it.

Between this and the recent low signal in my car I am very dissappointed in the equipment sirius offers. It seems to be very low quality. I've already replaced an antenna and a car unit.

I've found the customer service to be horrible as well but that is for another post!

What kind of boombox is it? My starmate replay boombox's AC adapter gets warm while plugged in, even when the boombox is powered off.

Plus the light on the adapter stays on itself. You might have just had a faulty unit. It can happen.

But your right, some of this equipment seems a bit low rent.

Flaky hardware has got to be one of sat radio's biggest problems. I had the original XM Delphi SkiFi way back when. When the connectors went bad, I called XM but it was hopeless and I didn't want to buy new equipment and couldn't figure out how to fix it myself. So I abandoned sat radio for several years. Power of inertia, the same thing that keeps people signed up, can bite the other way.
