My friend has a sportster and his reciver gets really hot to if its on for a while... Whats the deal with that? Do the other recivers do that? I am worried its going to melt itself

the older units tend to get alarmingly hot. but dont worry about it, it's normal and shouldn't cause problems. the newer units get warm but nowhere near as hot as the older ones. I have a new sirius conect home tuner that is on 24/7 and it just gets slightly warm whereas my older sportster replay gets nice and toasty after an hour or so.

Nothing whatsoever to worry about. These devices are tested in heat chambers and if they were not safe I am sure we would have already known about it by now. It makes for a great hand warmer during the winter too. LOL
