Maybe wireless antenna "Extender"

I'm thrilled with mine, been using it the last few days with great results. Ordered from TSS (thanks, guys!), free shipping, arrived in about 2-3 days.

My retail store (South facing) gets ZERO satellite or terrestrial signal for Sirius, and I have tried every inch of the place, carrying my radio around while watching the signal meters. When I open my back door, which faces North, I get full 100% satellite signal. This building is old (i.e, very solidly built) and has thick brick walls and metal roof. Never have had a problem with my XM signal, just Sirius...

Anyways, I took an extra XM micro car antenna I had and stuck it to a gutter on the back of my store. I then carefully ran the cable through the slight gaps in the door and around to my back storeroom. That's where I placed my signal sender unit, right by the only plug outlet back there. It sends a perfect, clear signal to my Sirius radio in the front of the store. No interference at all with the multiple 802.11 routers I have set up...

Now I can finally listen on my radio instead of having to stream thru my computer and then link up to the stereo thru Bluetooth, which is what I have been doing for a while.

I'm so happy to be hearing nice things about the repeater. I was a bit worried people would mis-interpret exactly what t was and what it does. It serves a niche purpose and serves it well.

Just got mine, this thing works great. I have the transmitter in the garage and the receiving portion in an upstairs bedroom and Im getting two bars. If someone can help, Im wondering if Im crazy to put the transmitter in the garage. Im in Central California, it easily gets to 120 in the garage. But the owners manual says keep away from dust, moisture, and humidity, it mentions nothing of excessive temps. Any opinions?

Did anyone notice that when the stilleto is put to sleep while in the home dock connected to the receiving antenna, the receiving antenna turns off?!?!? Everyone with scheduled recordings, be careful !

I tested it, the antenna turns back on by itself at your scheduled recording time. Sorry for the false alarm.

I've got mine... on a lark, I tested to see whether it works with XM; it is providing a basic level of service (2/8 to 3/8 of satellite from my Nexus' antenna aiming screen) to XM, but only when hooked up to a Sirius antenna, not when hooked up to my XM antenna (which provides near-full terrestrial signal, with no satellite).

The AC restriction is notable, but you can use antenna extension cables to connect the satellite antenna to the base station. For me, the best selling point for this is that it easily allows you to drive an arbitrary number of radios from one antenna and add and subtract radios basically at will (assuming a ready supply of SIRWWR1's). Not that I right now have a need for more than one radio, but if I had kids that wanted Sirius in their rooms, this would be a very nice solution.

It works beautifully for me. I placed the repeater in the attic of my garage and pointed the antenna north. Now I can listen to Sirius throughout my house and outdoors. Thanks to TSS for quick delivery.

Hmm...I wonder if it truly does make a difference on the antenna? I'm using a Delphi XM mini-magnetic mount car antenna with my Sirius repeater base station. I had an extra one left over from an old Roady, and the super-thin wire was perfect for me to fish around the cracks in the doors I needed to bring the wire through.

I've had a great signal so far, only losing signal the past few days because of the storms in the area. My XM signal has been a bit flaky because of the rain, also.

I need to try and hook the Sirius repeater into my XM unit and see what happens. If it works well, then I'll get another receiver unit when they come out and run my XM radio off that, that way I can place the radio somewhere more convenient.

I've had mine for a few days now. I love it. I have to use a outdoor antenna mounted on my satellite dish. In the past I was just limited to one place to listen to it. If I was in my workshop in my basement I had to use an antenna extension through the house to the basement. More times than not I wouldn't mess with the hassle. I have a Milwaukee job sight radio and I can listen to Sirius anywhere in my house inside & out. I can't imagine not having one now.

Default Echo

Just got mine last week.
Its the best damn thing they have ever made. I couldnt be happier.
Curious note however. I have it hooked up to that antenna that can split the sirius signal into 2. You know, you can hook 2 radios to one antenna. Anyway, the echo will not work if you plug another radio into that splitter, so just be forwarned.

If you had the money for it...could these be daisy chained and at what point does this stop working? I know it seems crazy but what about people with horrible tree coverage and stuff?

I have the home signal distribution kit as well. I just tested mine with my Stiletto attached to the splitter with a full SAT signal. I have the Echo attached to the other side of the splitter and my s50 has full SAT signal with the Echo antenna receiver attached to it.

Interesting notion. It won't work.

You would be transmitting close to the receiver and you would swamp the signal. Not good.

Maybe you could use an amplified extension cable if the Echo receiver was too far from the Sirius receiver.

Thumbs up

Just got one. Works like a champ. Going about 30' straight line through a few walls and my AC's air handler.

Combine the repeater with an outdoor antenna, and a couple other "off the shelf" components and I think TSS could make a killing with these.
