Anyone else have problems losing the signal on the Parkway?

Yep. I get a lot of dropped signals on the Merritt. Very frustrating as the XM in my car never loses signal (but the programming is not nearly as good on XM).

Yes, especially on the Merritt down through Fairfield and Westport. Sometimes, I will take the back roads through Westport to get to the Parkway, and the signal is always cutting out. Must be a weak spot for repeaters.

Lots of tree cover is the issue. The canopy is pretty thick most of the way. Not to mention no repeaters at all through there.

If you're lucky and travel on it when the satellite lines up with the parkway, you get great signal

Tree cover, the bridges and no repeaters are the major reasons. Summer time is the worst. Thankfully, my commute is on I-84 and 684.

There is a repeater on top of a cell tower along I-84 on the Newtown/Brookfield/Bethel line because without there is one curve on the highway that goes into a tight valley where you would drop signal for a couple of seconds. Was always a pain back in the day but seems they corrected that as of a few years ago. Waterbury had the same problem, both on the upper deck of I-84 and of course the lower deck.

NYC is heaven for repeater and signal strength. Drove into the City on Friday for a conference and while driving down the FDR never lost signal once.

I am sure they exist, even here, but maybe they are too shy to say hi.

I never lose signal in the Hartford area. Even listen all day long inside the tallest building between New York and Boston, antenna nowhere near a window, and get perfect reception.

I travel the Wilbur Cross/Merritt/Hutch all the time and hardly ever lose signal; especially in the winter time...

I grew up in New Canaan. First lived on White Oak Shade, then moved Jelliff Mill. Now I live in Newtown.
