Default So much for civilized discussions

Just wanted to apologize to De, BLCoach, CraigW & AZJoe1 regarding a prior post titled 'Sirius Backstage forums demonstrating censorship'. I'm apologizing for misinterpreting what this forum is about. I thought it was an open forum for discussion and debate. But you have shown me that it as with many that deal with this kind of topic (Satellite Radio) is filled with those who are looking for an outlet for name calling and ridicule for whatever personal reasons they have. I will not bother you with any more posts since it's obvious that you have to read them even though you don't like them and for whatever reason I have yet to figure out can’t seem to just ignore them and move on especially since you act like as if the post shouldn't have been allowed.

At least there are those like roscoryan, OnyxAZ, Jeremy & lost cause that even though they disagreed with me still knew how to respond in an adult and civilized manner and didn’t feel the need to whine about something they disagreed with.

And please spare me your rhetoric about my supposed whining or anything else like it. Those kinds of responses to a post that is obviously not a joke are what I would expect from teenage brats and adults that never grew up and sit around their parents place feeding off of them like a virus, playing video games all day because they have no job.

And CraigW, I didn’t realize that number of posts were a condition for being able to express an idea. Thank you for educating me in this. I now know that in order to make any kind of meaningful post that I must make many non-meaningful posts. I have to assume that you have had a great deal of practice with that already being that you are experienced in it. And to satisfy your curiosity I not only have Sirius but I have had it for over a year and I have multiple receivers and I even have purchased stock in the company. Do you know how much the stock is trading at? I would think you should since you know so much.

DrRock88 – I didn’t realize that spelling and proper grammar were such a big deal in the forums. You must keep pretty busy in order to check everyone’s post or were you just tacking a cheap shot this time?

And lastly for those who replied and were curious about it, I did not take the closing of the original thread personal. These boards are privately operated and the owners/managers can do what ever they want. What I do take personal are the sarcastic replies that serve no meaningful purpose other then to mouth off. I’m also betting that each of you who have replied to my post like that are going to take this personal. Well as another poster said in their reply to my post ‘..Someone got their feathers ruffled, this is a NON ISSUE, move on to other things,..’

I think I speak for most people here when I say we are sorry that your experience here has been less than perfect. The purpose of this board is to help, discuss and have a good time.

Now, I am not a moderator, so I cannot say exactly why your threads were locked, I can only speculate. I believe your thread titled "Sirius Backstage forums demonstrating censorship" was locked because your "idea" could have been sent privately to a moderator. And it really served no purpose to the rest of the members.

You have mis-interpreted Craig's post, he did not say you have to have 100, 1000, etc. posts to express an idea. Only it is suspicious that you are complaining after 1 or 2 posts without establishing yourself first. While this may or may not be true it makes you come across as a troll.

The last thing I'm going to say is that it is curious that you choose to continue visiting, and post. After your experience here as you put it has not been good.

Very good post SISO and I think you pegged this one from what I've seen.

To come back and create another specific thread to once again antagonize and stir the pot is not the right approach. Sometimes it is best to just let things go and move on. Instead of attacking the forum perhaps you should just start to participating and enjoying the forum as the rest of us do.

I don't know, if I don't like the way a forum is being run, I just go on about my business and no one has to tell me where the door is.

We are just not going to continue to stir this pot, so get over it. If this thread gets out of hand as the last one did, it too will be locked. My feeling is I probably should lock it now, but we'll see.

Hello--it's me. My oh my there is some really intense feelings here.

I really have been able to engage in debate pretty freely. So far I really haven't seen much locking or banning. Only when something truly becomes cyclical or unmercifully nasty (usually towards one person) do the mods lock things.

In fact, I have even from time called the mods names--watch...DAB is a doodiehead! Now we'll see if there is a price to pay for that one.

But siriusly, this is a pretty fun little community as online things go. Come, join in and have some fun. Please don't take things too personally and I thing you'll be pleased.

LOL, wow are you psychic? My nickname as a young boy was actually doodie, so doodiehead would be pretty accurate. Nice TRY, but no cigar.

I agree with UB, just join in the fun. We all get knotted up from time to time, but it's cool.
