Jeff split operations for shopSIRIUS between his college home (New Orleans) and his actual home (Bay St Louis, MS). Obviously, neither place is condusive for business right now, so we decided to close shopSIRIUS until further notice from Jeff.

I haven't searched the board yet. Has anyone heard from Jeff? Was he in New Orleans?

Yes and yes. His house is under 5 feet of water, but he and his family are okay.

I hope we dont see any Sirius shirts & hats on the looters now..

Hey speaking of the store and the site, don't forget to donate to the site... Im sure Jeff & the others would appreciate it around this time - especially with no merchandise cash coming in...

Information on how to donate is here:

Being from an area that is frequented by hurricanes I know how they feel down there. My thoughts and prayers are with them (except for the looters.)

I hope they are up and running again soon.

All those savages raping, stealing -N- looting, for self gain and sadistic pleasure, are pure evil. Those few hundred or thousand participating in such heinous acts are a poor representation of vulnerable human beings; I have no doubt that they will be dealt with on their date of reckoning.

For Jeff, man, all I can hope for is that you, your family, and everyone affected by Katrina get back on your feet as quickly as possible. You guys are in our prayers; keep strong and have continued faith.

Jeff, I understand you've given the stock of ShopSirius to needy in the Katrina affected region. Have you considered re-opening SS and allowing us to "Buy a Blanket for the Bay" and at least let us pay for those items? Just a thought...

I got a few shirts from Shop Sirius a week before the hurricane.

These shirts are very special obviously since they are symbols of what once was.

Jeff, thanks for everything, stay strong.

Thanks guys for your thoughts and overwhelming support.

In the weeks following Katrina and since relocating to the Austin, TX area, I've focused on working with Fema to process claims for my family back home in Mississippi, as well as assiting with Church relief groups in Texas. I pray that none of you have to ever deal with our government of Fema, I can't begin to describe how terrible the state of affairs is. Without Churches and private Corporations, we'd be in serious trouble.

As for shopSIRIUS, I am in the process of settling with insurance for some of my office shipping equipment and a desktop PC. We lost everything, and the tees and blankets that did survive were distributed in Bay St. Louis and Waveland, basicly ground zero of the storm.

Nearly everyone in town lost either their home, their car or loveones, so seeing everyone in a nice SIRIUS logo tee brought tears to my eye. No lie, the town was covered in SIRIUS gear! My mom counted a few SIRIUS tees in the Red Cross lines across town days later.

SIRIUS has also been generous in their offer to help in our effort to secure new inventory to reopen shopSIRIUS in the coming weeks. It's a start, we'll start small, probably with tees and such, and add new stuff as we can afford to.

There are many great design shops in Austin who I am seeking fresh new ideas from. Hopefully when shopSIRIUS returns, we'll have better variety, quality and styles.

Thanks for your patience and please offer feedback if you'd like. I want everyone to have a say in where we go with shopSIRIUS.

Jeff

Hey Jeff, anything we can do to help... I'll be in line waiting to order a few shirts when they're ready... (LOL, maybe I'll be able to round up a few more people to get a Sirius Blues shirt this time, or the elusive SiriusBackstage.com shirt or maybe even black shirts - which I know I would buy quicker than a white shirt... If you spill something, it doesnt show as much LOL)

But seriously, let us know how we can help...
