Default A couple of newbie questions.

I can buy a used Sirius Streamer GT with car kit, he is asking $75 CDN obo. Good price?

The unit was bought in the States but activated in Canada. Will I be able to listen to Stern now and the Nascar channel in 2007?

Thanks for your time.

That's an interesting question. I would think that the chipset would allow you to receive all of the American stations, but I don't know if Sirius Canada would still activate an American receiver. I believe they go by the SID #, and yours would come up as a U.S. one. Most of the other posters use a U.S. receiver and a fake U.S. address to subscribe. I would say if Sirius Canada activates it, it should work, but I can't be certain. Maybe one of the other guys on the board could be more certain.

Let us know how you make out though.

Just sign up with SIRIUS USA and you won't have any problems with the american receiver. It's cheaper and easy to sign up. I signed up a short while ago, just called in and gave a random address (choose a State with low sales tax) and i used my cdn credit card and that's it...I told the customer service rep. that i didn't want any info. sent to my house because i am often on the road and he told me that they usually don't send anything and if they were ever in need to reach me they would email....Good luck...
